Its been several years since my paint (single stage) was thoroughly detailed. The car is hardly driven, so the pint is in good condition. I decided to give it a fresh layer of wax. I hand applied Pinnacle's Paintwork Cleansing Lotion (non-abrasive) on a small test area. Pinnacle claims it prepares the surface for waxing by creating a clean, smooth, highly-reflective surface. I'm not an expert, so I don't know if "high reflective" means to have more glare... I'm not too comfortable moving forward as it seems the non-treated area looks glossier/better (under LED light). BTW, I have also applied Pinnacle's carnauba wax to the treated area.

Did I miss something? Is the slight light glare/hologram in the treated area normal? My goal was to use the least abrasive polish as I cringe when seeing paint residue on my towel.

You can try meguiars show car glaze #7. It will help your single stage paint paint by replenishing oils back into the paint.

Thank you! I just ordered it. I've decided to pass on the cleaning lotion. I'll just give it a nice wax and be done.

On my mid sixties corvettes I use meguirs fine cut cleaner with a rotary buffer, then machine glaze, swirl remover and then a good quality top coat wax.

Single stage loves to be polished. Obviously you don't want to remove paint evey time (fine cut cleaner) but every once in a while its needed to remove an oxidized layer. Usually if you fine cut clean it once and stay on top of keeping it (the paint) happy and protected with a good carnuba or similar you don't have to go back to that agressive stage.

Remember....Use the Least aggressive to get the JOB done....sometimes it takes something a little more aggressive, thats why you do a test section.

^^^Excellent advice. This is the GO TO product for single stage paint IMO.

Let us know how you make out!

any glaze will really make your paint look wetter, but polishing will make it look deeper and more crisp.

Menerna works really well on singl stage, something like 4000, or 4500 will d wonders for your paint as long as there is enough paint to work with on the car.

top ta with a carnuba like pinnacle souveran, or P21s and you will have a great looking car, albeit defect will remain since you are not cutting at all.

You are about 1.5 hours from me, but if you are ever in the OC area, I would be happy to take a look at the car for you from a paint correction standpoint.

Thank you for the feedback and recommendations. Meguiars #7 did the trick. Nevertheless, since my paint is in excellent condition, I decided to forgo any cleansing/polishing steps and just gave it a nice layer of pinnacle wax. Looks fantastic.
