Just picked up a F355 and the cats are bad. I was wondering if anyone has recored their cats before? If so, what donor cats did you get for the recoring? TIA

Fabspeed will recore stock cats. Then you can retain the stock look. I have hyper flows love them. Sound amazing. That's what I would do. Hyper flows and a tubi you won't regret it

We can re-core your OEM cats, I will follow up with a PM. Being from CA, you are going to want to keep your exhaust system as stock looking as possible so that you pass CA SMOG. Our re-core will allow you to fly under the radar.

We use 200 Cell Tri-metallic HJS cores on the 355.

I'm running Fabspeed re-core. May be the best solution in CA......provided I can actually pass smog.

The hyper-flows do look great when new.

With use my hyper-flow cats 'no longer look pretty'.....but they work great and that's what's important.
The car sails through emission tests barely registering anything.
    They are a great product.

I believe that my car was the first 355 re-core test case done by Fabspeed. Cats look OME and passed CA smog and were very clean. Highly recommend the process for CA as they should be the only ones that pass here at a STAR station. Photos and additional write up was in an earlier thread from last year.

I'll be back in the smog shop later this month for a test and I'll let everyone know how they are doing after being in the car for close to a year.

TrojanFan, your case showed me the light when my cats failed in October. Looking forward to your one-year results! How many miles?

Anyone know if 95' hyperflows and or 95' stock cats will fit a 96' 5.2 car? I have Fabspeed headers and cat deletes to a stock muffler currently. Thanks!

Recoring will certainly work on a 1995 with the earlier Motronic. Just don't attempt it with a 5.2 Motronic. In my experience, you will in all likelihood get check engine lights, like many do with other aftermarket catalysts. The Motronic is just very sensitive to the catalyst function monitoring...
