The choice of wheels is really just a personal thing, but I sold my slotted mags 5 years ago, and I've never looked back. Love the Borranis on that car. The Campy's are difficult to paint and get right, with no cracks and no blisters...glad to have sold them on eBay. s

Go with what you like of course, but to my eye the alloys are a better fit for the more modern lines of the 330's. The alloys compliment the body in their subtlety. The Borranis are the more beautiful wheels, but they almost create a distraction from the body rather than compliment it (IMO!).

All this being said, that car will look amazing with either set of wheels.

    Randy,

Even if you switch to the wires always keep the alloys for the future.

For the record, I'm not saying I'm absolutely right that alloys look better.

That would be a rude and obnoxious.

I'm simply saying that merstheman is absolutely and unquestionably right :)

As it is made obvious by the opinions stated Borranis vs alloys really is a personal taste kind of thing. And I personally like both of them. I have 205 XWXs on the Borranis and think it looks fabulous for display show and sunny days. On the alloys I mounted Vredestein tires and drive the heck out of them. Best of both worlds.

Randy- Congrats on the 330. I wanted to see if it popped up here. It was in my family for 40 years. I would be happy to chat about it if you would like any additional info. Let me know.

Another black one. Cool! My black one sits on Boranis. Though, I believe mine was Grigio Medio when it left Maranello. Not sure when it was painted black. And while I love the look, my XWXs are a little lower profile than what is "correct" for the car. Picts are in my profile. No idea how to link them here.

Wanted to add to this thread...first, the reason these boards are great is not only for information etc...but when you can contact the previous owner and learn about a car it takes so much mystery and apprehension away from a purchase. Second, I recently purchased #9829 (the car in this thread) from the dealer Randy traded it into...I am new to the 330GTC world and I am sure I will pop on and ask way too many questions. So thank you Randy for being accessible far beyond the call of duty and also to Karl at Crave who made this process seamless.

I love that color. Congratulations on your new acquisition and also your wonderful garage. I'm restoring/painting a 330GTC. It should be finished soon so I'll be able to post the pics here.

The subject car is now for sale at Autosport Designs in NY and the website says it was 1 of 6 painted in Pino Verde. I'm curious as my car, #10489 has evidence in hidden spots of a green color under the black it wears now. I think it's Pino Verde. How can I verify what my car's original color was and if only 6 cars were painted Pino Verde? If my car ever needs to be repainted, I may consider Pino Verde if that's the original color.

No, 10489 was not Verde Pino originally.
10489 was originally Verde Scuro 19394.
    Different color.

I did some research on Vintage Ferrari’s in Verde Scuro and this color looks like a deeper green than Verde Pino and looks similar to British Racing Green. Not having seen any in person, would this be your take too? How many GTCs we’re painted this color? What does 19394 signify?
