Hi,I am Martin and this is my car: Ferrari 348 TB,euro version without cat, number #081952.It has to be very early car-there is no plate with prod.number on the left side, just plate with some factory info.Classic colours:Rosso Corsa with Tan interior:like new.Everything still original.I had Remus Romulus exhaust-above 6k rpm nice high pitch sound very close to F355. PS:Sorry,I have to improve my eng.language... PS2:where can I found info about how manyth car I have(aprox.) Many thanks, this is just fantastic forum!!!!
Hi Martin, your VIN is very very early, one of the very first preproduction cars without cat. Does your car have the first kind of seats like these? ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mmmmm...... Thought I'd already added My 1990 348 TS to this thread, but apparently not. I bought her in May this year from The Ferrari Centre in Kent, UK, and whilst they were doing an engine-out service on her, I had the water pump replaced with an uprated version and had Hill tensioners fitted for piece of mind (the old water pump and tensioners were apparently in fine working order but I had them replaced for piece of mind anyway). She had 47,700 miles on her when I bought her and this weekend we've just gone past 50,000miles (I love driving her! - It's just a shame that too many other drivers seem to have a desperate need to prove that their modern hot hatch is faster than a Ferrari! - As far as I'm concerned, she's 24 years old and has nothing to prove to anyone!) Call the 348 style Police! - Yes she has the incorrect colour coded lower panels, bumpers and engine cover, and since the pictures were taken, I've added a Cavallino Rampante to the front grille (using a home made aluminium bracket). Some won't like these changes as they're not factory/period correct, but such is life! - I like it! She's not perfect (I'm currently in the process of sorting out the sticky air vents and the HVAC has just started to play up [pretty much convinced it's just the plug playing up], the problem is, every time I go to work on her I end up going for a drive instead! ) - But I love her to pieces (I've dreamt of owning a Ferrari for 36 years and now I do! ). The next plan (after sorting the vents and HVAC), is to add Hill Engineering wheel spacers front and rear to widen the track and fill out the arches. (BTW, the paint is actually darker than the photographs show!) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mines a U.K rhd 92TS Also with colourcoded sills roof. Hills spacers, Level 1 sports exhaust Coming up to 38,000 miles now Engine out last month, all coollant/oil/fuel pipes replaced (starting to perish) Hills tensioners and starter overhauled. Still brings a smile everytime i turn the key
Very nice! I have toyed with the idea of colour coding My roof panel as I do like the look, but it seems a bit pointless as the car doesn't go out in the rain and I never drive it with the roof on. Basically, at 6'2" tall, I can't have the roof behind the seats when I go out because I have to have the seat all the way back against the rear bulkhead, so a colour coded roof panel would just sit in the garage! What I do have, is a rare folding soft-top roof panel that I bought from a seller in the USA. It wasn't cheap but it instantly solved the problem of going places with a roof I could put on the car if it started to rain (I'm not convinced it would be that water tight but it's better than nothing!), or to help secure the car when parked, and that could be stored in the car whilst driving (it fits nicely on the parcel shelf). There are two versions of the folding roof, one that sits above the front roof rail that is speed limited to 100mph, and one that sits flush with the roof rail, just as the hard top does, and is not speed limited - Mine is the flush version.
I Like the folding roof it really gives flexibility. Ive no issues with headroom as vertically challenged at 5'7". At least i can reach the pedals. Colourcoding was done in the late 90s. Roof is a bit more prone to marking and more care needed with it, which the original covering hides these fairly well.
Here is mine. Motec M4 controled engine with 8 individual throttle bodies. Water cooled engine oil cooler. Super sharp response and power. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just recently purchased 1993 Serie Speciale. VIN 095760. #87/100 Just doing the interior sticky bits now and sourcing some OE wheels. 21k miles and in lovely condition Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I do but size too large for the upload limit. From my perspective, Motec and ITB is very good modification since I do not worry about failing original parts any more. Proper Motec tune provides both explosive high end power and rich low-mid torque. Therefore much easier to drive around in the streets.
