I don't know if anyone had a chance to check out this promo.

I think the car is spectacular. Do understand that the EB TTV6 engine makes a huge amount of torque right off idle. I expect the racing version to be no different. Ford is already stating that it will have the best power to weight ratio of any production car. I guess we will see.

Why? What is it about an Italian car that makes it better than an American car? Depreciation favors the Ford GT (compare a 04 360 and a Ford GT). Performance of the GT is sure to be equal. Looks wise the Ford GT is easily the equal. The what? the underwear and sunglasses matchng?

Preach it, Brother. These are the same folks that fall all over themselves over that humpbacked whale(excuse me Ferrari California)-what's the ask on that thing now, 300+?

I see a lot of Ford GT in front end

Rear fender outer shape is also very Ford GT

Ford had to modernize it a bit so I don't blame them

Since the Aventador is gorgeous ripping it off a little is understandable

But let's be fair Gandini ripped off Ford 1st. The Miura profile is almost exactly same as GT40

It's got some similarities with the Saleen Raptor concept as well. The areo bridges still look a little awkward to me.

It's great to see that the american car makers are finally stepping it up in a big way. It's about freakin time! I'm stoked on these newer cars. Hellcat is a monster, New GT gives me goose bumps, New ZO7 is also a great car. This new era in automotive excellence sure is exciting.

It is all about perception. Some have a hard time with a supercar coming from the same place as an Escort, even though they are produced at different places. Most probably don't know this or don't care. I am not saying that it is right, and I don't agree with it. The Italian cars have the perception of being rare, exclusive, and expensive. Again, this may not even be the case.

Yes mark it's because I like the ferrari sunglasses and underwear. Actually because as a sports car fan, I've owned Porsches, NSX's, vipers, and ferraris. There is just something a little more special about Ferraris than any other car I've ever driven or owned. The new GT looks like it's going to be pretty awesome, for $300k I'm not buying a Ford. Plus the Ford GT underwear don't fit me right.

Remember when all the 360 owners were saying the same thing. Now you can buy a low mile 360 for 70 and a low mile FGT for 250k.

Personally I don't care about how many cylinders it has... as long as it makes a good sound and a lot of power, I'm thrilled.

Weight-wise, that last V8 was really a pig, and it seems Ford is going for not only a nice amount of power in the V6, but low overall mass. I would love to hear some official numbers, but I'd imagine that this new engine shaves off a couple hundred pounds.

You need a superformance GT40 to go with your GT's William. I think they would compliment eachother well.

I take your word for it, you are the expert :D :D

My problem is not if it is fast or slow or something, it's basically a silly problem I have.

American muscle cars and trucks have V8 engines. That's the way it almost always have been and that's the way it should continue to be :p

I am hoping that at some point they will introduce a V8.

With V6 I immediately think Pontiac Fiero and shiver.

Having said that, I totally understand their decision to make it more economic, lighter etc.

The issue I have with this is if Porsche put this motor in a car they would be hero's but since Ford did it its frowned upon. Lets look at the 996 GT1 people love that car and its a turbo 6 cylinder.

6 has a point of view at idle. It's gonna haul - so whatever racket it makes will be associated with a certain amount of visceral savagery. Design provokes. Could be a hit ...?

Oh well, perception can be reality I suppose. I admire your honesty.

I'm totally head over heels in love with this car. America is cranking out some amazing drivers cars right now.

There is something very special about all the Ferrari's I've driven. There is something special about all the BMW M's I've driven also - in a much different way of course. Something quite special about STi's...and Porsches. In no way relatable to any of the others. Totally different; totally special. There are special and intangible things about each make that is forged over decades of working on tough problems - sometimes vastly different problems. This is why there is no way to compare cars on paper, or on looks, sounds, etc alone.

Once you hit $250k+, you are talking 458/458 Speciale as an option. That is widely considered the benchmark in the world right now for mid-engined sports cars; cars really. If the Ford beats it, or matches the experience at the same price-ballpark, then let's talk. Ferrari has set the bar here, now it is time for someone to beat them. I hope Ford does. Ford really should - they have the advantage of knowing everyone's hand right now so to speak. Everyone will benefit from a war. If what they are saying about the power/weight is true, they probably already have done it in terms of speed. The question just becomes price and driving experience.

I wonder what Ford can do in terms of production of an all-carbon car. BMW seems to be leading in terms of making this part of mainstream production in the future. I wonder if Ford will do the same with this car. Makes a ton of sense.

I mean until then, it's just a concept. We know the design is killer. They will all sell out.

Le Mans was a loooong time ago. Looking forward to seeing this Ford race. ; )
