Everyone is entitled to a subjective opinion/rationale about the worth of this car and the seller is similarly entitled to offer it a any price he wishes. There is no accounting for stupidity but nevertheless it is the selling price and not the asking price that matters....

I agree that the interiors were done at the factory but Marchet's book Lamborghini Urraco and the V8s published in 1983 page 96 says "although styling work on the Jalpa was carried out by Bertone, production is actually in the hands of Silver Car in Turin, the cars being painted and trimmed at Sant'Agata". Can anyone explain this?!

Arguing the price asked for the Jalpa is a mute point. History has showed that any Italian marque with less than 500 units built is a sure investment with time. There is NO common sense involved.

Hence : We are now the proud owners of # 280, 2 owner car, 26t km, sold new in Norway. Unfortunately premature engine failure due to a host of flawed original factory issues with engine assembly. No vital damage, just need to redo the whole engine the correct way.

Lets all get together in 5-10 years time and discuss values..........

    jalpa is nice and rare
i agree it could be a good investment...what i was sayng is not buyng one today at 225k$..that is NOT a good investment, is just crazy money for one today

with under that amount there are better cars and may be even better investment today, example:

    - diablo
    - 512 TR
    - pantera GT5 - GTS
    etc...

Absolutely correct Emilio, which is why we thought 45t usd was a fair entry price on #280.

Aside from the thick layer of dust, what pictures there are indicate a good looking car. Would be nice to have engine pics for that kind of asking price

this car has not the original engine!

    That Company was Mohr Imports.

  12. Interesting catch Raymond. That car was put together by the wreck/salvage rebuilder in Louisiana. It looked really nice & clean several years ago when it was on ebay last. 12064 in parts form has been on ebay for some time.

Are you sure the engine is from DLA12064? I have the crashed car as DLA12024 in my records. I've no records on DLA12064

I was in contact with two different persons who want to buy this car but no more news. I expect that the buyer will rebuilt the car, it's curious to buy a car without a lot of parts like this one...

Am I right in thinking that one of the potential purchasers were from Poland as each time it came up for sale there was a bidder from Poland.

I was just curious what had happened to the other parts, I cannot understand why a very tidy looking car would be broken up, unless it had been stripped to have some engine work and the parts went missing but that wouldn't explain the front suspension being removed.

Unless it was a tax fiddle to try to import it in parts and pay less import duty ??

Someone somewhere must know more about the car, it isn't like it's a common old Ford where there are 100000s of them.

I think the same as you and have the same questions. I was in contact with someone in Poland who search parts for a Jalpa but no news since the end of the sale.
