I will ask down here and see if anything is known. I highly doubt GTO will be used again, very improbable in my opinion.

I agree Jacques … and if they do it will raise a lot of eyebrows in my opinion.

The first GTO was based on the 250 and had its first model year in 1962. The second GTO was based on the 288 and had its first model year in 1984. That is an approximate 20 year differential. The last GTO was based on the 599 and had its sole model year in 2011. That is a 27 year differential from the first year of production of the 288. Obviously anything is possible but IMHO its improbable for there to be another GTO moniker applied for at least another 15+ years. If Ferrari applied the GTO moniker to the 599 to reflect the homologation of the 599XX for the street I'd think that, at a bare minimum, we'd need to see an F12 XX type of model as a condition precedent to employing the GTO moniker. This has been bantered about ad nauseum on the F12 list with most believing that its simply way to soon, post 599GTO, and there is no "experimental track only" car for which to base an F12 GTO therefore its not going to be called an F12 GTO. I could see a track oriented F12 version (calling it more than a "mere" HGTE option) like an F12 "special" (in the same vein as the 458 Speciale or 430 Scuderia). What an F12 special would be called is anybodies guess, but IMHO it will not be called a GTO. The GTO designation is reserved for something that, in Ferrari's opinion, is homologated. Whether we agree or disagree (or could care less for those of us who just like to drive our beasties) the branders in Maranello will only characterize a car as a "GTO" when there is something to base the homologation on. So the bottom line is that unless Ferrari has been secretly running an F12 XX or secretly racing the F12 somewhere on our planet I think the GTO moniker won't be employed on an F12.

    Stephen,

I fully agree with your logic and when I was talking to the head engineer of the 599 GTO project early 2010 when I was in Maranello to spec my 599 GTO he pretty much confirmed that there wouldn't be a "fourth" GTO for years to come. But with Ferrari you never know. I hope this won't be the case and I'm pretty sure they won't use the moniker lightly and at random. Hence why I would be very surprised to see an F12 GTO coming.

Just wanted to see what others have heard out there and if you received a similar call from your dealers as I did. Always good to get more info from the community out there.

    Cheers,

    M

800 miles and $550K. The other one had 5,000 miles and same price. $550K seems to be the standard asking price without regard to mileage and options (within reason).

The car was actually never owned by FoNB but had an existing customer "exploring" the level of interest in his car at the $525K price, and once he discovered the HIGH LEVEL of interest he pulled it off the market to re-list at a higher price.

I believe there is now a private transaction being done on the car at a higher price in the $560K range....

It's a one owner Carfax certified GTO and lived exclusively in Ohio. I believe the car was traded in on a 918 and the GTO could be purchased for $550K.

Can you please post some pics of your rollcage ? I have never seen a US spec GTO with a rollcage.

I thought roll cage is not available as an option on US spec GTO, similar to the Speciale.

Congratulations and welcome to the club. I'm away on business this week but will add you to the list upon my return. Great to have our first member from Holland and hope to see you one day with your car at Spa. You should bring the GTO there one day ;)

Great looking GTO and try to drive it as much as you can.

    Cheers,

    M

I don't think this is a US spec GTO as it has been delivered new to Holland.

Rollcage wasn't available on any US spec GTO. I'm just interested in seeing what it looks like.
