Stealing a good thread from Stevel48 in the 308/328 section...

What parts are you storing away for the future for your 348/F355? What parts will be harder to find?

    For me it is:

    Windshield and trim
    Extra OEM Floormats
    Ashtray
    Wheels
    Hoses
    Rear windshield

Just storing stuff that's been taken off the car. Factory cats, exhaust, springs, rear grill. Also have challenge rims with slicks for when I go have real fun. Trying to collect some spare parts here and there for common failure items (shock motors, cat ecus etc) when I see them for a good price so I don't have to go hunting if/when I need one. I almost jumped on the brake deal they had recently just for the rotors, but my brakes were brand new when I bought the car and are showing very little wear. I think when it's due I'll just move up to stoptechs, but as with all other 'mods' I'm keeping all of the factory stuff with the car so it can be returned 100% to stock. I also keep an eye out for any challenge or lightweight aftermarket stuff that pops up.

    The original steering wheel

A spare Rosso Corsa engine lid

I did have the factory cats for a while but sold them

Have been considering replacing the factory CD changer / stereo with the new one with satnav etc., in which case I'll hang on to the original, but not sure if it's really a good idea...

Would love a set of Challenge rims (like everyone else)

I have some small trim items for my 348 but the most important piece I have is a spare ABS module that is known to go bad and will become harder to find as time goes on. Another item I currently don't have but am on the lookout for are rebuild kits for the calipers. Guys have been having trouble sourcing those items already. I also think about the ECU units (Motronic 2.5) on my car because it is an early one (body #12) and they were one year only items, not many spares floating around I am sure.

I bought a spare fuel pump not long ago. I've been toying (for some time) with the idea of picking up a spare gearbox to rebuild or grab parts from.

If you plan on keeping these cars and actually driving them(lol) I encourage people to buy certain items as spares when the price is right.

Then you'll have on hand if ever needed.......you can always sell the part(s) later(if you sell your car) and from what I've seen with all the NLA's and rising prices you might actually make money off the spares you hoarded.

Bruce don't encourage me to buy more stuff ... Lol.
I did jump on the rotor/pad deal awhile back, and have other stuff I may never need ... Being single you can always justify buying stuff you don't need .... There is NO adult supervision in my house.

I've been watching for insurance sales. U might be able to score half a car in good parts. Just don't bid against me.
