Thanks Neil, but I've issued far too many bans and deleted far too many posts to do anything but take votes away from someone who deserves it much more than I do...

Mike, that's exactely the kind of posture and humility that makes one great ambassador!

So many different people being considered for ambassador just goes to show one thing imho: how helpful and great this forum is!

I've also mentioned Terry would make a fine ambassador, not realising he had already won. I still think Robb would make a fine ambassador. I believe it'll be impossible for someone to think otherwise after browsing the 348/355 section for more than 30 seconds.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

    Spoken like a true gentleman.

Steven, this is a very pleasant surprise, and it made me feel good; thank you. Unfortunately, I don't know half as much as the other nominees, and my contributions often double as an attempt simply to learn more about that which eludes me (like the spoke thickness of 599 GTO wheels currently being discussed in the 599 section). I've been tracking 599 GTOs literally since before the first one was delivered, and I just now found out that there's a width difference in the spokes of the wheel design offered with the 599 GTO.

He's bled us white, the tyrant. He bans our members and and deletes our posts, and what has Mike Seals ever given us in return?!

    Approves new members' posts?

Oh, yeah. Yeah, he does do that for us. That's true.

Guides people to the sections that might interest them?

Oh, yeah guys, remember what the forum used to be like? Everyone taking about any old thing anywhere. Ferrari General Discussion was chaos.

All right... I'll grant you that approving new members posts and guiding them to the appropriate sections are two things that Mike Seals has done...

    And hammers spam...

Well, obviously the spam hammering... the spam hammering goes without saying! But apart from approving posts and guiding people, and hammering spam...

    Changes FerrariAds sale/wanted statuses...

    Advises on rule tweaks...

    Merges duplicate threads...

    Yes... all right, fair enough...

Provides intelligent conversation and witty anecdotes...

Oh, yes, that's something we'd really miss if Mike Seals left.

    Encourages fellow members...

    Supports fellow moderators...

    Advises on membership and sponsorship...

And it's safe to chat on the forums at night.

Oh, yea, he certainly knows how to keep order...

Let's face it, he's one of the few who could in a place like this...

All right, all right! But apart from approving posts, guiding people, hammering spam, editing sale/wanted threads, advising on rule sets, merging duplicate threads, providing intelligent conversation and witty anecdotes, encouraging fellow members, supporting fellow moderators, advising on memberships and sponsorships, and keeping order... what has Mike Seals ever done for us?!

    Introduced us to jazz?

    Oh... jazz.......... shut up!

    :D :D :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I'll step out of my annual comfort zone of saying nothing on this thread's subject & second Andrew's comments & other nominations & add a name.

FWIW - In the last Quarter, @ 10 out of every 23 "actions" were performed by mseals. For free. And mostly unseen. But it's not about quantity, it's about quality. Again, I put forth that mseals is on my Mount Rushmore, the only place he gets to be big-headed, as Member first, moderator second.

That said, there is plenty of "seen" evidence of quality over quantity by other Members, as attested to by fellow Members in preceding posts, for which I agree.

In addition to all of the above and without slight to those not yet mentioned, one A-List Member whose name I haven't seen mentioned yet is UroTrash.

Sure, it's easy to make sophomoric jokes about his profession, but he is the consummate professional of sophomoric jokesters, (so, don't even try) and shares insights which may save lives of Members on this site. Asks and gives equally on a wide range of topics, and when necessary, moderates from the bottom up.

It's folks like these that not only keep this site addicting, but for whom I am grateful, and better for it.

I have to agree... Uro is a stiff supporter of the site... always lending a hand when possible. None of this flaccid support... but, strong, turgid posts, always made (perhaps with the help of medication) with a thrust of professionalism, and often a a happy ending.

I think Uro should be right up at the top of the list.

I agree. Uro's contributions should be brought to our full attention and this prominent member should be shown our proud firm support. You know urine for a treat when Uro is a known contributor to a thread. I'm relieved I'm not the only one who feels this way.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

There are MANY great members here that I enjoy learning new things from each day. The cameraderie is good, and the stories are better. I appreciate all the support and all the PM's that are traded behind the scenes with great links, support, and even MORE stories. I try to give back what I get. It's fun to be a part of this. Thanks for the kind comments.
