Barret Jackson Testarossa sold for 269.500 $ 1988 FERRARI TESTAROSSA - Barrett-Jackson Auction Company - World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions
The hammer price on the 88 at B-J's was 250. 269.5 must be with the fees. There's a black '86 at Mecum tomorrow.
What about real Ferrari's that sold? I'm sorry but a 25 year old Ferrari with 280 miles is sacrilegious in my book. We have all heard the one about how not driving your Ferrari is like having a girlfriend and not having sex with her so she is right for her next boyfriend. This is taking it to a whole new level.
https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail.cfm?lot_id=FL0115-208657 Any guesses on what the hammer will be on this? Considering all the talk about someone picking up one for 50k a few months back, those damn wheels flying off and that stupid mirror that obstructs you view I can't see any "idiot" paying more than 50-60k for this POS!
Yeah! just adding some fuel to the fire! I have the same car but very late VIN, I see the interior carpet is black with tan leather my car has the tan carpet as well. Wonder what the mileage is? Any upgrades that have been done? Will be interesting to see what it sells for, I am in the process of doing the major service on my car including one of Newmans carriers and SRI hose kit. Did the fusebox upgrade and gold kit last year. These are beautiful cars but do take a bit of sorting to get the kinks worked out. Black over tan is stunning on these cars!
Maybe they are unused Following jgmblair I think there will be some stupid people looking for an old fashioned Ferrari they know from their childhoods wall poster with uncomfortable gear knob and too slow electric windows. Stupid or clever? I am glad that i was stupid enought a few years ago and i know people who were stupid enough in the 60s to buy a used old bugatti and maserati monoposto out of old garages.
Isn't this one of the IAG vehicles? Without knowing the mileage it is tough to say what it will hammer in on. My "guess" though that the mileage is between an "estimated 30-50k" will get a 80-90k high bid with no sale due to high reserve. I am flying down to Kissimmee tomorrow, will plan to have a look at this car while I am there.
So IAG is sending their Ebay 'no sales' to auction. Easy to spot one of their cars as they take all of their pictures on the same road.
Nope, though I can see where the confusion would arise. Car was sold and it would appear the consignor didn't take new pictures, but we no longer own the '86 Black TR.
Coker does not sell a matching set of frnt/rears they sell a front that matches at 50 series, the car requires a 45 series, otherwise they sell a TRXGT which is in 45 series but a different tread. 50's in front do rub wells. Rears I think are available but who wants a set of tires with unmatched tread patterns ??
Anyone who wants a car that doesn't have 5+ year old rubber that doesn't rub ;o) For the record, the '86 does have the GTs, and it was here at our place for at least a month before I even noticed the tread pattern difference. I'm not sure who Leon Cornell is, but I can say with at least moderate certainty that we're not related at all.
Part of the fun in owning one of these is working on the Kinks It's been fun in my 7 or so years of owning my car to see the dedication of a few enthusiast in trying to solve some of the known faults in these cars. Even if someone buys the car at Mecum tomorrow for 90K and then spend 25-30K on a proper service with the available diff and fusebox upgrades I think its still a great deal! I think the total production of single mirror cars is under 2500 units, so you don't have to be a rocket surgeon to see the writing on the wall and to predict where these early cars will end up price wise! They ain't gonna get cheaper!
I think to most here....that would be noticeable within 10 miutes of viewing the car.. But most here are not your average tire kickers!!! Leon Cornell is/was a prominent independent importer of 512 Boxers in the late 80"s I bought 2 512BBi's from him in Rhode Island. Anyone here remember him?? Yikes..I must be getting old.. at least I did not know Luigi Chinetti!
Didn't realize the exact number of single mirror cars was only 1497! and yes I'm sure there are more than a few missing. I might have to ask my wife if I can buy another car tomorrow! Could you imagine that conversation hahahaha So let me get this straight, it's exactly the same as the one you already have? yes dear?
The TRXs I bought in May were made in 2004. Coker said they won't order any more until their current supply is sold. They are the only distributor of TRXs in America. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
