As a prospective Espada owner, I've watched both videos at least a dozen times. I'm currently in serious negotiations . . . with my wife. I've thought about showing her Harry's video so she can see the joys of Espada ownership. I dare not show her Aaron's video where he talks about them "going from owner to owner, bleeding them white."
Thanks for the welcome Bob! Yes; on VLG and have been on it reading it non-stop for a month. Hope to learn from the long-timers like yourself and contribute in equal measure. I just wish we were all on a more friendly forum interface than Yahoo's. Soooo much easier to post photos, search and mantain thread subject matter integrity...
Alright Aaron, I did immerse myself in yours first (love the color) ...LA just *can't* compete with the Route Napoléon.
Well try and not let that bother you. There is the new format forum but very few people go there. Both are oriented towards maintaining a database of how to take of these cars whereas Ferrarichat is a is social site. There IS an advantage for having all the marques mixed on here too. Search is far superior on Yahoo. You'll find it's barely functional here. The photos thing is really pretty good now but how they present the forum's posts is one of biggest abortions of software design I've ever seen.
Oh, I dare say LA has its fair share of compensations. And some pretty fabulous roads as well. Plus much lower and more contestable speeding fines than the French! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, Mikes car was finished just in time for the chili and cornbread party. Keeping the theme Lamborghini A few vintage banners were put up for ambience. My Espada was already at Mikes garage resting so at the end of the night we did a little switcheroo and I drove mine back. Hi All, The car show started off well we got there around 8 oclock and they had our spots reserved. This car show has something for everyone There was even a highly polished gas truck, including a chromed engine. Now for the end of the show Aaron drove Mikes car to the show and we were going to switch and I was going to drive Mikes back to the shop and he was going to drive my car back to his place. Well luck would have it that the key to the S3 broke and no amount of screwing around would get it to turn. Well I guess it happens to everyone, and this was my turn to call AAA. Of course, on this particular model the steering wheel locks, so luckily the wheel was almost straight. We had to push it out and then borrow a floor jack to turn the car 90°. Of course, the AAA towing person was Mr. Grumpy as this is not a high paying situation. In the end, the car back at the shop. Ive taken the steering column apart and should have it back on the road in a few days. I think of it this way I was a line mechanic on Alitalia, when the plane came in and there were no problems I didnt learn anything. So with this broken key I have discovered I have to make a special tool to take the steering collapsible part under the steering wheel. So I have now gained another Lamborghini special tool! There was a tidy Lamborghini Espada Series III Up for grabs in Artcurial's auction in Paris on Friday night and I'm pleased to be able to report it went for over guide. I'd love to be able report the exact price but Artcurial are slow putting there results up but hammer was approx 155,000 ($175,000), so inc. price would be 180,000 or $200,000+ Here's a link to the car... Rétromobile 2015 by Artcurial Motorcars - Sale N° 2651 - Lot N° 142 | Artcurial | Briest - Poulain - F. Tajan
Thank you Olivier, I'm glad someone actually recorded the hammer price, rather than trying to remember it like me! Is this a record price for an Espada at auction, as I don't know of one selling for more than this?
It belonged to one of my LCB member, he is quite happy... as you said, it is a record price at Auction for an Espada, if you saw it, it didn't deserve that much, but it is how the market flies today ! there was a restored S2 displayed on the paintshop contracting for MMC, asking price at 250.000 ...
250 Keuros... what a crazy price, so how much (if someone buys this car) for a perfect S1 ? 450 ? Can't believe this...
I know a 2nd Espada also for that asking price... it will be displayed at Essen Techno Classica within 2 months... it doesn't surprise me, considering the budget of a perfect full restoration above 120.000 , so just compute the purchasing price + the profit margin... there you are...
Good to see a regular/good Espada not being 'given away' at auction, like we've seen in the recent past.. Here's a link to an Espada being restored by MMC in Paris, which I'm presuming is the one you are referring to. Nice colour..
