    91 white/tan @ mecum that went for $112.5k
    https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail.cfm?lot_id=FL0115-209963

This car was in their closed in area with the other premium cars. Unfortunately, it was parked right next to a Saleen S7 that made it look rather pedestrian by comparison. The Saleen hit $350k and didn't break reserve. Below is a shot of it as it sat prior to the auction

The other 2 TRs were the 1986 black/tan (https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail.cfm?lot_id=FL0115-208657) that is discussed above and a red/tan 1990 TR with 61,000 miles. I had a decent look through the red/tan car and the interior was in very good condition; I strongly suspect that the leather had been replaced as there was little to no bolster wear on the seats. Carpets were "ok" but not really in bad shape. Console controls were decent as well - all in all, I thought it was a pretty nice looking car. I didn't see any evidence of body work, but to be honest it was under pretty ****ty lighting conditions, so I could have very easily missed something that a more experienced eye under better lighting would see.

Quite honestly, to me it looked like a nice buy at $55k but I am also not surprised it didn't get much higher than that given the high mileage and the venue. It also ran through the auction very late in the evening and a lot of people were out the door eating dinner by that time, so a lot of things weren't getting much air time. As anyone who has been to an auction knows, WHEN your car runs through the auction is extremely critical on whether you are getting strong bids or not - this car was about at position ~250 out of around 300 cars.

I didn't grab a shot of the red/tan as the lighting was pretty bad, but here is the black/tan just prior to it hitting the runway.

It would appear that $90k is what they were looking for on the 1986 black/tan
Ferrari Testarossa Single Flying Mirror | eBay

With 65,000 miles on the clock that is a tall order at the Mecum auction. Kind of surprised they didn't drop the reserve at Mecum and walk out the door with the $77k bid if they have it listed on eBay with a BIN of $90k. Would save them the trouble of having to ship it back to Missouri.

Big red and Greg...Yup that is exactly how I looked at it, $14,000 but needed an engine out. Right place at right time. The PO was about 6'3" and around 230 lb. He was tired of climbing in and out of it and loved his DD, a 750IL. I tried to get him to throw in one of his FCA trophies but he wanted them for the memories. Great car!

The 65,000 mile black '86 flying mirror auction was ended early. That was fast! I hope we can find out the actual selling price...would be a good benchmark for a well-driven flying mirror that had a lot of exposure to the market. Goes to show that putting miles on these cars doesn't hurt the value as much as people think. Go enjoy them!!!

Deals like Jaguar's and mine come from being in the right place at the right time. They should be considered outliers and not indicative of market value. I thought my deal was amazing...but Jag's beats mine by far! I had no idea he paid so little.

Yeah in a rising or falling market a car`s value will do whatever it`s going to do whether you drive it or not, so unless you`re just under a milestone figure for mileage then just have fun!

With less than a quarter of Testarossa production being single mirror, I guess the mileage is going to affect it less still. There`s going to be more choice of low mileage dual mirror cars than single mirror ones, so if someone wants a single mirror then I guess you have to take a higher mileage car - or if mileage bothers you, wait around for a low mileage one and pay a small fortune for it!

If that black one reached 77k at the original auction then if they had of sold it, with premium the buyer would have been paying well into the low 80`s - and the seller coming away with low 70`s. So hopefully a buyer and seller came together around 75-80k via ebay and both will be better off. The middle man (auction house won`t be ofc though!)

The high mileage dual mirrors seem to be doing well too though. If that 61k miles red one reached 55k - presumably that`s means nearer 60k with premium. That`s nearer what you would have paid for a 25-35k miles car a year or so ago isn`t it?

Looking at upcoming auctions there`s a few Testarossa`s coming up in various years and mileages. In fact there seems to be a lot of just about every single make and model of classic car rare or otherwise coming up at large numbers of auctions around the world - all just in this first quarter!

I wonder if this will be the year that it all overheats and fizzles out - or if the madness will continue??

'This car is sold'. Was the asking price really 375,000 GBP as it now says on the ad? Did the optional extras include a Russian model named Nadya on the passenger seat?

    Mmmmm.
Maybe the lucky owner would contact this forum to talk about the non-fictional nature of his purchase. And I hope Nadya doesn't turn out to be a man in drag. A transvestite. A TR...ah...

Yeah shame no pics - but like you say, it`s listed as sold now.

Obviously I don`t know anything about that car in particular - but regardless, over here Testarossa`s seem to be getting snapped up at a fairly rapid rate. They seemed to sit at dealers for ages a year or so back but now they`re all going....

Once you sort through the ads weeding out the sold ones, wanted ads and auction ads that seem to keep repeating past auctions, there`s not all that many to choose from now of any kind that are actually based here in the UK - and as for RHD it`s hard to find one much under £100k.

I remember some good RHD cars selling at auction in the 30`S and 40`S only 2-3 years ago.

There again I remember Countach`s selling in the 50`s and 60`s not long before that!

It`s a lot more fun driving a car than looking at a bank balance though!

Looks like a US spec car with miles on the ODO - that's a great price with a recent service with new tires and clutch.
The way the exchange is , that translates to about $69,000 US for an American buyer.
