LOL Thanks Spider! I felt the same way. I'm not sure if it was Caesars Vegas or some other place? But I'm pretty sure it was Vegas. Crazy paint probably made you avert your eyes. Lots of photographers drooled over it at Tutto Italiano last summer. I've been very careful and front has clear wrap. Took out some light scratches here and there with rubbing compound already. A couple tiny stone chips in wheel wells and front faux grill to attend to.
It was definitely in Vegas. It was down in the forum shops in front of an art gallery. I'm pretty sure it was the trip I was there and they were building on to the forum shops. The next time I was there it was gone. I'm going to go look through pictures now, I'm sure I would have snapped a couple. No offense to the artist just that type of work on that type of canvas just doesn't seem right to me. There is a dolphined Diablo out there somewhere too by the same guy.
Andre Rison. NFL Kansas City and Atlanta. House famously burned down by TLC's Left Eye Lopez. Car was repossessed about 18 months after he bought it. He has since gone on to discuss pro athletes losing all their money!
My 355's original owner was Greg Whitten of Ferrari/Car collecting fame and one of the original Microsoft employees. I guess he needed room to park the GTO so the 355 got the boot! haha
Correct. He hasn't been posting for a while, as his car may have sold. He was asking a very much deserved top-dollar price.
I had two famous owners. First owner was the guy who first marketed Mountain Dew. Ed Niles owned my car, too.
Anyone have a good way to track down the ownership history? I'm the third owner of my '98 355 and I have the name of the second owner but they don't have any of the documents from their purchase in 2003 on the original owner.
Originally purchased 27.1.94 in bradford uk. Purchased in business name postcastle properties. Later sold by blakes carraige company whom claimed it was owned by lauda. Purchased then by another guy aaron stewart whom exported to nz then a couple years later (2008) he exported to australia where i purchased it from him Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm the third real owner, and know who the second owner is, but I have no idea on the first owner. The 2nd owner did not get any records with the car when he bought it from a dealer who bought it from an auction. Any tips on getting the first owner's information and service history on the car?
Run a carfax or autocheck and it may have the original dealer on it for a maintainence entry. Contact them and start from there.
Pretty sure these are pics of your car when it was for sale. *Not sure if you have seen these pics before* It's a very unique colour combo which I think looks great. Congrats, good to see it ended up staying in Australia. When did you buy it Christian? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for those pics, Pap. I was wondering if the interior was red. Can't be too many of those around, if indeed there is another. Any idea how many 348s there are in Oz, total?
My 1996 F355GTS was first owned by Tom Mazzullo outside of Chicago (8 years), then to Dr Brian Grogan in Connecticut (10 years), then to me in Texas. I have been unable to reach either one to discuss any possible records or history (photos please). Anybody heard of them and know how to reach them? My Ex-Dino was more interesting. The original owner was Sandra West in Hollywood, CA who was later buried sitting in her 330 America in Texas. Dino 8454 was later owned by William Bennett who was chairman of Circus Circus in Las Vegas and it used to be licensed CIRCUS5. I had it for 24 years before it ended up at the auction at Rick Cole in Monterey last year. I still don't know who bought it or where it went. Except in certain special circumstances (can you say Steve McQueen) I don't think celebrity ownership adds any real value to a car, but it is often interesting. -- J.R. PAP, Yes that is the Car. I have gotten a black convertible boot now but I also kept the red as a spare (an because it is original). I purchased it 12 months ago. It needed some work when I got it (engine out etc.), however I have almost finished bringing it back to its former glory. I just have a few paint touch ups left to do.
