The interior looks just like yours bill. The same shape too. I decided to leave it original. I'm just gonna do the paint. Same color on that as well. I realize red/ black is a bit more rare. I will send pics of the whole car when I get her home.

Yes red is fantastic very flamboyant also.
My main concern was that red doesn't change into tan well at all.
This is because they basically paint the seats and as they wear micro cracks appear so you would end up with tan seats with red showing through....very nasty.
Red seats and a black car, very nice, although it's prehaps tempting to go with a metallic black?
Think that would look very elegant and eyecatching.
    All the best Bell

No I was not going that route. I was going to replace the leather with new leather not dye but in the amount the restoration has already cost me I decided it looks good no tears or wear spots I would just have it detailed real good by a leather specialist and tell myself I love it. I will paint it I belive its Nero. The color is on the trunk lid I will paint it the original color and tint those windows dark black. Add some newer rims and tires and a few other things. Just 3 days left and the engine is done. I might make it by June. I will drive it a bit before it goes to paint and body shop. Gonna have that done in Nashville now as I am relocating there for my job. So it will delay the resto of my Mondi just a bit.

Oh wow, yes replacing the leather is definitely the correct way of doing things but boy it sure is expensive.
Redetailing will look terrific, I think your interior is the best, I'd swap you any day ha ha.

Well the engine is going back in today. It should be done late tomorrow. One question. The headlights do not flip up. Is this a wire issue? Motors bad on lights? Is there a vacuum line to them? What typically is the issue with the headlights not poping up? Thanks guys

Don't forget it might also be a bad stalk....mine had a worn actuator - there is a thread here that talks about it.

Ok it appears that was just a shot from eBay. None the less it does look good and I am leaving mine original red.

    Thanks Dave.

Yes, windows of opportunity, ya gotta take them when you're able. The boys are 9, 10 and 13 now, and no longer interested in cars unless it's a Call of Duty Jeep.

True - - but then, knowing what real class is, we must not allow for "ego pesentations". If we're fortunate enough to be "successful", we need to be thankful.

Ahhhhhhh - - sorry - I'm an animal lover that REALLY doesn't like the way humans do "life on planet earth".

    Cheers anyway,

    Hank

There is somewhere a thread about fixing bad connections on motor lift up. I 'm not shure...maybe in 308/328 section.
The mainswitch can be cleaned after taking of steering wheel....
