Ok, so I live in the UK ... the 5 digit only code means you in theory need to know the name of the street too .. but some places, particularly rural ones ... don't have road names, how else can I find a place on the map to drive to ?

    Any thoughts ?

    Cheers !

I never use the GPS on my 458 I just put the large speedometer in its place.

On my Garmin GPS I just put the town and the street number and that seems to work. If that does not I would use the nearest road and put in you number.

I hope that works and good luck

Thanks all ... shame Ferrari, despite how lovely their cars are ... don't care too much about the infotainment sections as much as they do their engines, gearbox and chassis / suspension !

    Cheers all.

458 sat nav is entirely useless. I just use Google Maps on my phone for navigation.

Blame the system provider - at the time the car was designed (2008) because most of the world only uses five digits that is what was available and specified - since then only a few premium brands (eg Porsche but only since late 2012) have sourced more sophisticated units

The Nav improved in the Speciale - better map display, faster calculation of routes. I use it only once and a while, but she always led me to my destination...
