I'm not sure that's correct for the early 308.

I would imagine Tom Shaugnessy knows exactly what he is talking about, however, you might verify with Brian Crall (Rifledriver) just to eliminate any question. I am sure Brian knows as well and having a second opinion wouldnt hurt. If both guys say its so - thats it - no question at all.

I don't know myself but I have never seen an emergency light at all so I am intrigued.

That looks to be the correct emergency light. I think the only thing to change over the 308 / 328 / 348 / 355 range when they were issued was the plug end.

Have a look at the light that " Too Many "
recently had for sale in FerrariADS, you will notice the plug end is different.

Here is the one for sale by Too Many in f-ads here.

The plug and cord connection is different. Maybe this is for the earliest 308's.

Patrick...find and buy one NOW, because soon, they will be priced like the spark plug wrenches...stratospheric!

Have a closer look at the two plug ends and you will notice they are not the same, close but not the same shape or finish.

I'd always thought the plug without the screw (post 18) predated the one with (post 1) but it would appear not - there's always a little something to learn on this site !

when you are looking to some advertising of high priced low mileage cars, give a look to the details: true low mileage cars have everything like new and also the emergency lights must look like new. The '83 208 GTS turbo has 8 k miles, the 88 GTB turbo has 16 k miles. The 1,5 k miles 348 has still sealed and never opened tools bag. Details always tell many things: they never tell lies nor bull s h i t s.

    ;)

    ciao

Hey you guys are funny :)
Therefore I'm lusting for chiming in.
My emergency lamp for my not so early 308 GTB ( two VINs older than Alberto's ) has the very same plug like Oengus'.
It's correct for all the cars, which have the plug socket beneath the dashboard.

    Best Regards
    Martin

I have the exact same plug as Oengus, but judging from Alberto's pictures, it seems incorrect for a 308, but correct for a 328. When I bought the car everything was there, except for the light. so I bought one on Ebay (from F-Chatter Paul Baber it later turned out).

So now I have to find the correct one! :D

    Peter,
But Alberto says, that the light he shows, is from 1983.
My car ( '80 carb GTB ) came with the light. And it is exactly the same like the one Oengus shows.

Let's dream tonight of 308 emergency lights :)

    Best Regards
    Martin

Also correct for the GT4, which has the socket in the glove box.
