Dear Friends, I collect cars and have over the last year built up a collection of 15 Ferrari's and Porsches....I have been lucky to have dealt with many extremely good dealers all over the world.

Perhaps, a result I blindly trusted Anthony from Hendon Way Motors.....Sadly, this was a huge mistake and like many other people have subsequently learnt that Hendon Way Motors are effectively thieves and liars.... I have had the worst car purchasing experience of my life.

I purchased a 1989 3.2 911 Carrera Conv from Hendon Way Motors and despite the car spending 11 months after I purchased it with them and they promising to fix the car, they have failed to honour a single promise they made.

I would implore all the members of FerrariChat to make sure any unsuspecting purchaser stays away from them.

How many consumers that have saved money for the opportunity to buy their dream, have had their lives ruined by Hendon Way Motors and how can we put a stop to this?

    Please help.

Do we not think it, given the way technology helps us today, it is time to set up a rating system so we can have forum members rate the service they have had with dealers.

Surely this would mean that unsuspecting buyers are aware of the cheats and thieves like Hendon Way Motors?

Its not as easy as that - as an example one London dealer who recently & publicly had to cease trading also had an incredibly loyal customer-base

But in this case I doubt Hendon Way has any loyal customers and there should be a mechanism or warning the community of their methods of doing business.....sadly I fear anyone that does business with Hendon Way will end up being cheated.....

    its a strange thing...
there are several dealers who are well known for being crooks but they continue to be recomended by the motoring press...

If your paying for full page ads in their magazines what else are they going to say.

    Not that simple.

Allowing forum posts that name and shame a dealer exposes the forum administrators to potential law suits. At least it does in the UK.

It is interesting to look back over 40 odd years of FOC magazine ads.

An enormous number of firms have burst on to the scene, with much brouhaha and claimed instant expertise in all things Ferrari. Most have disappeared within a couple of years, presumably causing pain to some customers.

At the same time, there are several low key advertisers - or fims that do not even feel the need to advertise! - who have quietly given first rate service for decades.

All businesses have the occassional cock-up but it is how they deal with these that seperates the good from the bad.

I am in no position to comment on Hendon Way, and thy have been around for years, but it would seem they don't fall into the latter category.

Incidentally, there is a long established Surrey business called HWM - Hersham & Walton Motors- who in the past imported Facels and Isos, and have dealt with classic cars since the early 50s. To avoid any confusion it is probably best not to use this abbreviation when referring to Hendon Way..

Anthony at Hendon Way knowingly manufactures what he believes to be true, he preys on on good willed people who take him at his word, and has no respect or pride for his reputation or quality.....while he has survived in business for a long time the fact that having been in an industry that has created so much value over the last 30 years he has quite rightly achieved very little.....I frankly am a big believer in people get what they deserve and in the case of Hendon Way I doubt they will achieve much growth going forward....
