Normal day - My car always park at basement, I notice that when the car is cold and without warming up the car The car will normally lost power until it gets warm. And the car kind of jerky and petrol pedal response is not good, meaning the more I press down the pedal the more the car lost power especially when I go up the slope before getting out of basement car park. But if I warm out the car for 2 mins before I move , everything is normal, so I normally just warm up the car. Everything runs very well.

One time instance - That was a day when I drive normally on a road but I notice the car jerky and lost power, I noticed the petrol was vey low, I pumped up petrol it works like magic , so I suspect that was due to low petrol .

Big problem - Last Sunday , I drove and it worked very well but when I was at about 90kmph, tried to slowdown by pressing the brake so I wouldn't miss the exit turn, the car went jerky , this time I was worried as I could feel the jerk and lost of power, misfire too. This is not normal. After I stop my car and 1 hour later I tried to start the car, it's struggling and I start hearing a lot of misfire sound from exhaust . This time it's was worst it completely lost of acceleration and I could feel that the right engine is not firing properly. The car is struggling to move. So I have send my car to workshop. The mechanic is looking into this tomorrow.

Any idea what causes this issue ? I know it's maybe hundred things but what's the most likely caused for a testarossa ? This is the first time I face this problem.

    Thanks in advance

As you said, could be a hundred things (or more). However, I just experienced the same problem and here's what I found. The 4-pin connector at the bottom of the ignition coil for the right bank was damaged (melted). Check there as it's certainly an easy place to start.

BTW, does anyone know where I can find said connector?

    Thanks,

Basics to me : treath the motor as 2 separte engines.

So if you disconnect power of bank 1-6 and 7-12 runs fine you have solved 50% of all possibilities.

Do so with more things: disconnect parts and you may exchange them form "the other engine/bank" ...

Not much of a help maybe but there are very many threads to be foun here .... good luck and keep US informed too please.

I experienced a no power situation a few weeks ago. Turned out the cable to the tachometric relay box rattled loose when I went over some bumps in the road.

How did the diagnosis lead to this?

Fuel pressure I think , I am not sure it was my mechanic who did the check. The plugger jammed.

Not saying this is impossible but to have both of them jam at the same time?? Highly unlikely. The only reason I can think of is that you said you ran it low on fuel. Maybe you sucked scum off the bottom of your gas tank and...somehow it made it through your fuel filters...that's a stretch. I have heard of these jamming before but never to both sides at once.

These fuel distributors are usually rebuilt. It ain't cheap.

Are you sure it wasn't just a fuel pump? Or, more likely, an electrical problem? Have you looked to see if you have burn't white plastic on your wiring harness at the fuse box? It's an easy check.

Wasn't there a thread not long ago about it ? Wasn't it all refurbished by Bosch ... or am I mistaken ? :)

Don't change the distributors. This will not help you. Never they will quit their work at the same time. And your problem is only at one cylinder bank.
If your problem is the distributor, change it to the other side. The mistake should also change to the other cylinder bank. If there are problems with the fuel pressure at one cylinder bank, there are also some relays, which can be damaged. Find out, if the problem is realy at one engine side. Remove the wire from one ignition coil and let the engine run. A Testarossa engine runs very good, without vibrations, working only with 6 cylinders. If there is no misfiere, the mistake will not be at the now working bank. Now the same with the other side. If misfiere is there, you found the damaged bank, and you have to search only for damaged parts at this side.
I hope this will help you.
