I am quite positive that having India&Pakistan on your side helps a lot, but we have China to par it (and actually surpass it) and Russia, Europe and America.

I doubt that 35%, honestly. I dont think it reaches 25, actually, and basically that because of India alone with its 1,2 billion out of a 7 billion total.

As mentioned, roughly 35% of the world's population life in countries where you drive on the left.

Bicker as much as you like, but don't counterargue fact. It makes you seem even dumber.

Agreed ! 10 years ago , no one would know the 512BB would reached 400-500K in 2015 and it might drop back to 200Kish some years later ??? Who knows and who cares as long as we have fun and enjoy the ownership now.

I bought my 16M last year with 5800 easy miles in southern California. It now resides in North Carolina during the winter and upstate New York (20 miles from Watkins Glen) during the summer. In my first year of ownership, I put 7000 glorious miles on it tearing around through the Adirondacks in New York and the Green Mountains in Vermont. I drove the north half of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia last May. A fabulous car in every respect. Much better than a 458 in every respect. The true essence of a sports car. Will it be a good investment? I truly don't care at all. I bought this piece of post-modern Italian industrial art to drive it, not to stare at it in my garage. If you want an Italian investment, get a painting, not a sports car

Glad my wife does not visit this site or others like it, I have convinced her that all my toys are investments if I look after them. When I sell something at a loss I blame it on the economy. I would rather lose money having fun rather than watch a low interest bank account make me a little!

I do not know about it being a good investment that would probably be a stretch but on the other hand these cars are loved by an increasing number of people ... many like the scud better then the speciale so I think it is reasonable to say that you can drive it for a couple of years and sell it for what you paid for it more or less. Now on the other hand look at the 575SA and 440 Barchetta over the last couple up of years they are way up..
So if you like it can afford and it will make you happy (it will) you should by the best one you can you will not regret it..

Nice 16M but what happens when you buy that car and actually drive it/put miles on it? Just like the CS which is going crazy people and dealers are going after what they think will attract enthusiasts with lots of money. I guess that saying is true" A Rising tide lifts all boats"
It seems that people forget the old remarks that were made about the F1 trans. and that it will be hard to get parts for in the future..They cost an arm and a leg to fix now,can you imagine what it will cost in 20yrs? That has been forgotten about as people buy 360CS at crazy prices and soon to come 16Ms? Are the people buying man stick cars the smart ones here?
The point Iam trying to make is that what really happens to these low mile CSs,16Ms,SpecialeA and the like...I guess if your wealthy you put them away or drive them very sparingly. My guess is the wealthy can roll the dice and hope their 285K CS will keep going up. Its sad but this frantic trend to find and secure these cars puts a bunch of true enthusiast with less than 6 figure incomes out of reach of ever owning one.
I applaud the owners who really put miles on these cars because as some have noted thats worth the cost in spades.
I have been guilty of what I write about as my scud has only 5K miles. Iam trying to sell it and can only hope like the CS and 16M its true value will be realized.
I sometimes think to myself why sell when its such a very special car on the road and I haven't even taken it for a track run?? I will miss it if it sells but if not by April it will stay with me and make it my duty to enjoy it more. Sorry for the long -winded reply..

I would definitely add: 348 GTC / Scuderia / Speciale... As the depreciation curve moves on even standard (308 / 328 / 355's) are moving up nicely. By comparrison these cars are much rarer...

I think the cost could actually go down in the medium term honestly. If you look hard, you can find ways to fix the big ticket items for reasonable money. Just a couple of examples - having F1 actuator rebuilt vs new, buying aftermarket CF disks vs OE brembo/Ferrari, buying parts direct from Europe, etc. There are enough F1 cars our there to drive some services as the cars age. You do have to be patient though; the downtime waiting for parts/service can be extensive. Bottom line, there is no way to worry and enjoy at the same time, so I chose to enjoy until my car starts spraying gear oil on a 500 mile trip ; )

RE: track. Do it man! True story - I bought my Scud without having ever driven one on the street - only the track. Although an amazing car, there is no way I would have fallen in love with it without the track time. Just go to a good event, get in the intro/group 1 and be honest with your instructor, and leave it in sport until you advance more. You will have fun and be safe.

On toys I ALWAYS expect to get my money back. Thats why I do at least a year or two of research before pulling the trigger. That includes guns and pinball machines (my other addictions). Never buy new always buy at the bottom of depreciation curves. The best time to buy is when you say: "I should have bought last month!"

I'm not always right but better than 90% and have doing so for 30 years.

I have been researching the purchasing of a 16M for a year and a half and bought one 3 months ago. In that time-frame the price seemed to have gone (at least on public listings) from the high 190ks to in the $240k-270k range. Who knows where the price will go (up or down), but it feels to have bounced off a general deprecation trend. It's such an aggressive driving and sounding car with some rarity behind it. I also own a 991 Turbo S and it contrasts that vehicle on the opposite extreme. If the 991 is a cheetah, this thing is a rabid wolf on steroids!

Those of us who own a 16M are aware of their value as the end of a breed.
Canvas spyder, non turbo, race inspired model with full carbon and incredible sound.,
not to mention a very bullet proof engine, at the end of a model run.
Unless an individual is really interested in a trade (to what?) or resale, I doubt there is much concern for depreciation, though its nice to know the trend is up. It makes owning the car that just more enjoyable.

Amazing couldn't say it any better, I would add the real wild card in trying to predict 16m value is , a majority and I mean a majority of 16m owners refuse to sell. Many 16m owners here on fchat and many are long time owners.

I think it's clearly a no brainer the 16m will increase in value no questioned asked, the real question is what's the time line? 1 year 5 years 10 year 20 years? I'm will be the 20 year long owner. I will revisit this thread at that time 😜

Looks like there is only one 16m for sale as the Ferrari of Settle car is no longer on the dealer website or autotrader although it looks like DR is not updated. That leaves only the Driving Emotions Nero car available as far as I can tell aside from any that may be hiding and not on the obvious listing sources. ..
