I picked up a new-to-me QV today from Ferrari of San Diego service, where they had a to-do list -- including a new clutch -- of items due as part of the sale. Plus new tires, which I bought, and they installed as a courtesy. Elizabeth, the service manager (who worked at Symbolic back in my 328 years), and her team got it all done, and tracked down a couple of missing bits that aren't exactly off the shelf items. I appreciate that 308s are pretty old hardware compared to the normal stuff at the dealer, but it felt like the car got the royal treatment anyway. Imagine, a 308 where all the electrical bits actually work...

It has been a few years since I had my 328, but based on a short drive today this car starts, stops, and shifts as well as that car did -- maybe better. 2nd gear worked straight away (no waiting till it was warm), and maybe it was the new tires but the ride and handling were better than I remember in the other 3x8s I've driven.

More to come. (And more photos... this one is in the shop.)

But, in the meantime, job well done to the FoSD service team. The car feels pretty dialed in already, after a lot of years with not a lot of use.

Looking good. I drove past this place once, what I saw inside those open service-bay garage doors was a pleasant surprise...
