I agree wholeheartedly! If anyone is thinking of selling due to limited garage space, I highly recommend doing what I did last month...install a 2-post car lift! It is much less expensive than you think and it instantly turns a 2-car garage into a 3-car garage. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Geno did a similar thing for this stranger. He took a free Saturday and drove from his home in Marin County to South San Francisco to put his eyes on a 308 for me - a total stranger that simply posted on this site asking if anyone was in the area. I didn't realize how far he had to travel and what kind of route he would have to take until a recent trip out to the bay area. Thank you again, Geno. If your 308 has to go I know the new owner will get a great car. Good luck in whatever you end up doing. Curtis
Helping others is Geno's style. To be more clear, Geno was helping the Mechanic, and Owner, to sell their car by posting it here on FChat because they were not computer savvy. He answered all my questions about the car, arranged for a PPI to coincide with my initial inspection visit and washed their car before my arrival. All this with no benefit to him other than helping the three of us. Thanks again, Geno
Curtis, i think i missed a rust spot in my inspection, sorry about that <smile>. I was thinking the whole time "I should be buying this little beauty". That is an awesome little car you have Curtis I am glad you are enjoying it. Keith, you might have got the deal of the century for that GT4, I was also thinking as I was cleaning it, what a cool car it was. And it was great to run into you on one of the FOG drives. One day, I am going to come to Tulsa (I visit OKC for business every once in a while), and I expect to go for a spin. Happy to help you guys, I have certainly received my share from the community.
They are both awesome cars, but I gravitate to the Jalpa like a crack addict to the pipe.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have not met Geno...I hope to someday soon...he represents the essence of character from the stories I have read and what this community is all about...Geno,get a lift...buy a Diablo...AND KEEP YOUR GORGEOUS CAR
Ha. I'm turning a 2 car garage with 3 cars in it into a 4 car garage..... with 2 lifts being added. Well - 4 cars, two motorcycles. The canoe is going to get evicted.
Nope - no rust, just a rock chip or two. And since that time I have probably added a couple more chips. That is the price to pay for driving and enjoying them. If you ever make it to the Baltimore/DC area you can always take it for a spin. And maybe tweak up the carbs while you are here Life is too short not to enjoy it. If another Lambo is what makes you happy, go for it. Once you get it I am sure that in short order it will be one of the best Lambos out there. Curtis
Thanks for your advice in the past. You are fortunate that you can chase your passion like you do. Best of luck
Well Geno, that car is a gem. A beauty. Under your custodianship is has been well cared for and will make some new owner happy. Anyone who is looking for a clean no b.s. car. PASS THE WORD. This is an opportunity.
Not quite as fast as The Golden Chariot especially as driven on 2 of its 14" tires Ducati-style around corners...
Geno, if and when you sell your car, I will be glad to drive down from Santa Rosa and take you for a drive in my 308 if you miss her. It would be a pleasure and an honor, sir! Really.
Well Geno, your car has always been one of the most beautiful cars on this entire site and you have truly been an inspiration with everything you have done with the car. The Jalpa is a beast, a totally different experience. I wish you all the best.
My garage ceiling is 9'3". I needed to raise my garage door track by 16" for more vertical clearance. I bought the 2-post version from Car Lifts, Auto Lifts | Direct Lift (no affiliation). It was a game of inches, but perseverence kept the project successful. Good luck.
Car is in for a major, see the for sale thread. They reported the cam pulley's were slightly worn - probably don't need to be replaced, but I selected to have them replaced. They gave me two options; original nylon OEM replacements, or aftermarket aluminum pulley's which is what they recommended. I thought he said they were Scuderia Rampante, but couldn't find them on Dave's website. Any thoughts?
