The state of the art for Dino restoration is so high now. Just incredible job here. Inspiring stuff. Kind regards, John in CT.
00152 is almost finished now, with only a few minor touches left to complete her before she goes on sale. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lovely car max! Careful with the snow chains Are you going to do a private treaty, or auction? Regards, Alberto
What great shots in a classic color! The snow in the background provides a brighter surface than the Rosso Dino and makes these photos of the Dino "pop".
Alberto, Alas, the snow lasted for just one day, otherwise my snow chains would have gone on. The car was heading to one of the main auction houses. But, I've now decided that it will be sold via private treaty, probably here in the UK & mainly due to it's historical links.
Thanks for all of your kind comments. The car has undergone quite a transformation & now at 47 years old will probably last another 47 years before the custodian of the car at the time, decides it's time to do it all again. It's hard to imagine just how beautiful these cars must have looked back when they were first available, when the average car still looked so functional, awkward & boring. In bright orange, it must have really stood out on the grey murky roads of the UK back in it's day in 1968.
It's true that, almost fifty years on, it's difficult to remember how futuristic the Dino appeared when it was introduced. To really get a feel for the advanced design of the Dino, pick any number of cars, built anywhere at the time, and compare them in appearance and driving experience to the Dino. It may not have been the most powerful car available, but it was light years ahead of just about anything else when it debuted. Fred
Hi Max, I'd heard in the UK classic Ferrari trade yesterday that you'd sold #00152 for GBP600k recently. Is that correct?? I also see J.D. Classics have one for sale at the same asking price. All very interesting to me as, now my resto is complete and the car has it's Classiche certification, I'm also thinking of selling. Did you put 00152 through the Classiche programme? Best wishes, Tony
Hi Tony, To my surprise, you are not the first person to mention this to me. (Chinese whispers?) As my car is not quite ready for sale at the moment, the rumours are totally incorrect. JD Classics however, do have two 206's for sale at the moment. One restored & the other unrestored at £645k & £620k respectively.
