It has to be a fleet thing because they all talk about the GT3 remaining atmospheric -- that or they're lying to either us or themselves . . . (I know they moved from conglomerate to marque standards when VAG went nuts with label purchasing.)

Im pleasantly surprised by engine it got. Thought p would use gt4 to get us used to turbo 4. Rather have 385 na hp vs 400 turbo.
guess p will keep gt cars na and use turbo on mainstream models

    Nice!
I'd rather have that than a base 991 for about the same money.

For now, anyway. I'm glad to see they released this one with the manual- maybe the last hurrah.

I agree. Although in the video Andreas says the cars are for different customers, I'm not so sure. If anything, the Cayman is a bit more practical unless you have very small kids and need the tiny rear seat in the 991.

Lots of components directly from gt3....slightly off topic but if they came out with this, could there be a manual offered in the upcoming gt3rs

    Don't want to nitpick.

I do not like the backup camera/nav in the center dash. Perhaps Porsche could pull another Porsche trait, and charge more $$$$ to delete the toys ?

    Yes! They will delete:

    Sound system
    Nav/camera
    A/C
    8 lbs of sound insulation

    And up-charge only $5,200...

Is this for real or are you being sarcastic? I mean, has Porsche had such prices on just option delete?

A nice GT4, even if it is stealing the brand from the Ferrari GT4. But, I think I will stick with my 2005 GT3.

I doubt it. I think the three-pedal manual was a way of dumbing down the GT4 a bit to keep it off the GT3's turf. But who knows...

True, how will we tell them apart... :(

Sorry, I was being sarcastic while reflecting on the 918's Weissach Package which deletes 35 kg for $84,000

A bargain :D No way I would accept those electronic toys.

How much does Porsche charge to remove the carpet ? ;)

At the end of the day, it is a better choice to purchase a 5,000 mile 2007 GT3RS.

WOW, if you're including these in the same category as the Cayman GT4, then clearly, how you look when you go to Starbucks on a Saturday morning is more important than handling or road feel. So by all means, get one of those instead.

Last season i was tracking my gtr which was awesome as usual. I was also instructing my friend in his brand new cayman s, which i also drove. Finally chevy had a c7 with the track pac available for demo. Gtr was most thrilling due to speed and my familiarity with it. Cayman had best front end grip and balance. Vette was best overall. Felt rock stable, fast and fun. I would have been happy parking gtr to drive vette all day. Not case with cayman. So now porsche gives it extra 50 hp, better r comp suspension, and little bit aero? Like i said, not so sure about gt4.
As for m4 or audi, most gt4 owners will track 5-10 times year and use on street rest time. Those might be weaker on track but perhaps much better on street. Can also get pure cayman cup car with gt3 engine swap and 450 hp if only care about tracking but then need trailer....

Yep cayman GT4 looks nice, and would love to try one, but. Part of the appeal of these special porches is the special motor. Was hoping for somethinglike a lower spec 991 motor.

I am sure the car will handle great, and would be a superlative backroads car. But in this world of z06 vettes they need a bit more specialness to the cayman gt4, at least from what I see. Yeah i know its not about ultimate speed, and Pernunger says its a hear/emotion car, then give us the heart/emotion motor.

Give me 415 hp with dry sump and most importantly a screaming 8250 rpm and price it at $100k vs blah motor for $85k

I'm not a Porsche fan. I'd always prefer a previous model used Ferrari over a new porsche. By my god. Everything is right about this car. The price point, the mid engine, the size. This is something special.

Agree, I worry that "heart and emotion" car is jargon for "not as capable as it could have been but..."

Sean, the base 991 Motor is 350 HP and the "S" is 400 HP, so this is just under the "S" spec at 385 HP, based on your previous posts, I figured you would love this car.
