Very nice. Welcome to the Mondial club. Don't feel too bad, I did the same thing. I traded my Lotus Esprit S4 for an '85 Cab, sortta sight unseen like you. Well, I ended up having to replace the cam belts 'cause the "invoice" the original owner included for cambelt work was "made-up". The place never existed. When we looked at the tensioners, they appeared to be OEM! While in there, I had 'em replace the camshaft seals and the valve cover gaskets. I was very fortunate that I made it home from WVa after the trade, cause one side of the muffler was held on with a cheap cable tie. I was also having shift issues on the way home, but finally made it. Ended up having the shift-shaft bushings replaced, then the shifter forks adjusted. The brake booster needs rebuilding and it could use a new muffler. I purchased a top off of e-Bay and several other F-chatters have done the same and are quite pleased. The top is right at $500.00and it usually takes about another $500.00 for someone to install it. Now, like you, I had an expensive paperwight for a while. Well, after those issues were ironed out, I'm having electrical gremlins. I've purchased a replacement fuse/relay panel and will install it once it warms up here in South Cakalacky. It's only getting up into the 50s right now. Pretty cold to be outside. These Mondial F-chatters are the best. They've helped me tremendously and will help you, too. I don't know about the others, but Mondialers are great. Unfortunately, though, my Cab came from an F-chatter. Can't name names, but all these guys here at Mondial are great!

Certainly disappointing if the seller was part of the misrepresentations. Don't know if he claimed the work was done, or he got ripped of by the mechanic, or the work was done while under a prior owner of your seller.

But rest assured, even good ones need some work. I got a pretty well sorted car from an F chatter here. He included a box of spare parts, and service records.

I still spent some money fixing up odds and ends and making some running improvements. Any used car will need some money put towards it. On our cars, there is always a little something to do, but that is part of the fun of owning and driving these cars!!

    Regards,
    Jerry

If the seller was not up front on some issues you may want to somehow make sure that timing belt service was actually done. There is nothing that will ruin your day more than a broken belt and a trashed engine to go with it. It is a beautiful car. I sometimes wish mine was red.

Thank you all, for the positive welcome to the club. I know that owning a Ferrari means that there will be resources leaving my checking account. I am fine with that. What I wasn't fine with was the how the transaction went down. I got the song and dance, and all the paperwork for all the work that was performed. Then when the car showed up, it was not what the salesman sold me. I tried multiple times to contact the seller, and I have received no response what so ever. This is the part that has bugged me. I own a business, and I work really hard at making sure our customers are happy with the end result.

Good news it. Monday, the car goes into the shop for a look see at the clutch, and I will have the mechanic take a look at the timing belt, and all the important stuff. I will keep the Mondial group posted when she gets back on the road.

Thank again, and have a Blessed Day everyone!
