got it - thanks!
If we follow where Dino's and Daytona's are , prices for the 308/ bb will probably stabilize now and the tr has some uptick. Hard to imagine that these recent sales have owners that will flip for less money now, and bank financing on old cars is not rampant as it was last time around. For those that didn't get in, the new watermark numbers are where it's at.
Yeah it was a single mirror car ( 20% or less of total production) - and also Euro. All Testarossa`s are special ofc and you can sure tell a difference in the interest in them over the past year, even months - I think they`ve just got to that age now. Dom
so whats a guestimate for red/tan 94 512tr with 14k miles - mint, original, and serviced - need to adjust my numbers for imsurance. 170k?
$225-250k QUOTE=ttforcefed;143717293]so whats a guestimate for red/tan 94 512tr with 14k miles - mint, original, and serviced - need to adjust my numbers for imsurance. 170k?

94 512TR. especially if you have the updated / latest version diff. I would start with $250,000 and watch the market. If it costs a little more even a bump to $300,000. 94 late production is very much in demand. Protect your car brother. R
yep mine has the updated/latest diff. I certainly plan on protecting her!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ferraristi, What's even more amazing than these Testarossa values is that this username has never been taken in all these years. A new member since 11/14 Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice!
I understand that low mile examples are the most collectible of any make/model, I get it ..... , it's just such a shame though that you can't ever drive it. I would get no pleasure out of that ownership situation.
+1 I just took my 512TR out for a drive last saturday on the sunny country backroad of the South of France. I deliverately tried not to add to many miles, but still drove 120 miles before putting the car away again. I'm going to buy a 348 TS to compliment it, one of the reasons being to spread my miles over two Ferrari. How people have the restraint to drive an average of only 200 miles per year is beyond me. Can somebody who drives their TR very very little explain how / why they do it? I'm genuinely interested to understand. Surely it's not even (for the most part) out of sheer financial consideration, because the recent explosion of the market in general and then of the TR market was, 10 years ago, largely impossible (or very difficult) to anticipate.
Why restrain the mileage? Enjoy the car and it can be restored when time comes. I drove mine 2500km last summer.
Ask yourself, Who are the people that have and buy these cars and drive so few miles. They are Fortunate for sure...I do know a few in such a position. Most of these individuals have more than one car or..some many more..maybe even 10+ cars collections. so the desire or lust for driving a really nice car is spread throughout a multitude of options..So Many people here.....Compare their own situation to others in the world. I learned one thing in life, never be jealous, never be envious and never compare yourself to another's position, for you know not what that man goes through to be that man. Just say you have 25 weekends a year that you can pleasure drive... and you put 100 miles on a car each of those weekends.. that's 2500 miles a year devoted to pleasure driving only.... if you own 10 cars that's 250 miles per year per car...more than likely you would have a preferential driver as well so some cars will not be driven even 50 miles per year.. These people do not appear to be you and I, or any of many that post here. So why is it so hard to understand how some cars are not driven through so many years of ownership. Some people find great value and joy in possession, ownership without use.. If I had my way I would have all 4 cornerstone Ferrari super cars....well now 5 .... and only put a few hundred miles on each a year.. Its not hard to fathom... It is my opinion that these cars that are surfacing with next to no mileage are products of previous owners such as I described... However they are not part of the FChat community as they chose to spend there time elsewhere. This is what makes it so surprising to find out the cars have not been driven.
+1. Life is too short not to enjoy these beautiful cars. I plan on 4K miles per year on both Ferraris
Easy, other's don't have gorgeous setting you enjoy at the South of France. But really, here in Chicago = pot holes and lot's of traffic! Than there is about 7 months of crappy weather to deal with. Other causes? Multiple cars, work, kids and occasional bad weather on the weekends you're left with very little time to enjoy your cars. Any one in the same boat? Very frustrating. Time to move to Monaco?! Geno
I just did a 300 mile one day drive in my 87 TR and it was fantastic! Comfortable, fast and exciting. I had more cellphone bandits after me than I did in my Lamborghini!
I live in SoCal - and like you said - work, kids, family etc.. that I find very little time to get out and enjoy. It's even more frustrating because of the traffic situation is so unpredicatable on weekends. The last thing you want to be in is a stop & go traffic for miles and miles and driving stickshift.
Sad but true. I take my CGT out at time and normally back in 20 minutes. Too many cars, bad roads. Okay time to sell! LOL!
These are many of the same reasons why I tell my friends that I won't buy a boat in Chicago. 3 and half month season minus the rain. Not worth it to own one at all, worst way to spend money ever. At least I get to enjoy the F-cars for about 6-7 months a year
