I would suggest both might be equally inadequate. for this reason I installed a 10 blade plastic fan from cool cat which uses the same mounting holes and connectors . the only difference being the 10 super light blades vs 2 and 20 thou CFM of air means no over heating in the worst of hot days stuck in traffic!!!

Just found this thread. In the midst of a 2 year restoration, all out, on a 67 E OTS. Just chose colors last summer, a few discreet mods going in.

WilliamH, I LOVE the D type wheels, wish I could score a set of my own. Also hunting a hardtop.

In a minor effort to stay on the OT, a 63 E type brought $303k at Bonhams last week, so they seem to be holding their own nicely.

Having gotten out of a couple 12 cyl F cars (still have the 328) I just wanted a car that I understood, can see all its components, identify them by name. Plus, to me, every component of an E is a work of art. The rear suspension by itself is sculpture.

Their values seem more protected than other 'recent run up spike' cars also

    Hey guys,

I just found this 69, numbers matching, NO rust, engine turns over all complete with an extra set if wire wheels. Can you give me an idea what its worth as it sits?? 55 k original miles. clear title.

    thanks for the input,
    Jason

I am trying to buy a series one coupe in similar condition. my cousin restores e types at classic showcase in Oceanside...he has advised me that I should try not to pay a penny more than $35k. does that help at all?

Lets call that somewhere between condition 3 and condition 4, then $35k is reasonable IMHO.

    Hagerty valuation tool confirms.

The JCNA judges guide for Series I E-Types only differentiates the radiator between 3.8L and 4.2L cars. The 3.8 is listed as having "corrugated sides", which I take to be the same as the "fins" seen in these pics (yes/no??).

    FWIW.

This was, I think, the original color of my Dad's E-Type (a '65 FHC). The original paint is still showing in the spare tire well, though my memory of it is a just a bit "greener". The car is now silver w/ navy blue interior. It's nice, but a driver, not a concours winner (though he does have some awards in the "Driven" class....).

But Gary, yours is just DROP. DEAD. GORGEOUS! ;)

I've thought about selling my S1 coupe and getting a nice S2. This one looks like it needs a bit of work, no?

thanks for the compliment! mine does have a bit of green in it in the right light . I travel to the Goodwood Revival annually and looked at few unrestored Opalesant silver blue cars in the car park to hopefully nail the color in todays liquids and I think I got it .....Sadly with over a foot of snow on the ground here in Toronto this is how it looks today :((

hi guys. I am usually on the Ferrari subgroups. I actually did not even know there was a british/e type forum. I have a 74 e type and a 69 420g (pictures on my profile). I will make sure I visit this part of the forum from here-on-in.....I know know there are people just as sick as I am!

My college buddy drove my 67 E behind me in the Aventador down to the Homestead 500.

He loves old Brit cars so now he's got a huge crush on my E

It's not all that far off heh. A nice set of NOS Sims will run you a pretty penny these days.

Drove a series 1 E type coupe at Goodwood a few years ago through Mytril racing. Best drive of the cars they had including D type, Aston DB5, and 3 V8 Ferraris. Like my TR3 and 4 when I was a kid.
