is that a recent record price for a Diablo variant? I've always thought the SE30 was the most valuable street-legal variant, closely followed by 6.0 SE, but I am biased.

Actually, I don't really know. It's just nice to see a Diablo variant...even as special as an SE30 sell for asking in this new reality. It creates a new " high water mark" on valuation which these cars will now be based.

As far as I know, it is.

With the exception of the Diablo GT I sold last week, also at FULL asking price of $489K, which turns out was to low..but I am happy. I had offer of $550K the day after on the Diablo GT

This list provides an overview of the different parts on the US SE models compared to the base model. There are similar differences for the Canadian cars. Why do these cars have different valves and rear differential and what are the implications in terms of their relative performance?

The word on the street is that Lamborghini told the feds that they would use the regular Diablo head (with the smaller valves) on the US SE30, so as not to have to homologate a new car, allowing it in more easily. But....in fact, when they build the cars, they pulled a fast one, and they used the larger valve heads anyway, knowing the feds would have no way of knowing.

I personally heard this from Valentino ten or fifteen years ago when I asked him. Further, Mike at Evan's, who has worked on several US SE30s had stated that every one he has taken apart had the larger valves. Steve Lefferts can attest to this as well, as he had his SE30 worked on at Evan's and inspected the heads.

So, as with many things Lamborghini, you never know whether to believe what you read, or what you see? Do all the US cars have the big valves? Who know? But nobody that I have heard of has ever seen the regular Diablo valves in a US SE30, so I am inclined to believe that Lambo pulled a fast one on the feds and sent the cars over with the big valve heads. I also personally know that a stock US SE30 will outrun any US stock street Diablo, including the SV, accelerating through the gears, further making me believe that the US SE30s got the big valve heads.

Nice to see the values on the SE30's going up... I remember just a few years ago when some were listed at $150k, and could not get $125k!

I should have bought the one in particular that I am thinking about which is now in Texas!

That's me. Sorry been tied up recently.

Got mine out at the moment, I'm trying to put to some miles on it!

Drove it 30miles last week just to get a bulb for my X5 - a place sells them 1mile away but wanted a reason to go out
