here's the place for those looking for a cadmium plater. Reid Metal Finishing, Quality Plating, Anodizing Wait times for cadmium can be long -couple wks, or you can pay to expedite but it's not cheap to do that. It seems to come down to when the batches are being done. Oh and you'll save if you don't need hardware separated out. I just drop it off in buckets and sort it myself later.

Vince, Sikkens is a very good product. We used that when I was at LMC and I think Rocco is using it too from what I've read.

So this is the finished product using the VHT aluminum paint? Any long term experience with this? It is absolutely beautiful. Perfect in my opinion. Want to mimic if it will last without deteriorating. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Unfortunately paint is always going to peel or flake at some point. It's a real PITA but I have the parts run through a hot solvent tank for a couple hrs then hand scrub and wash again, then one more trip through the solvent wash. If it's not clean at that point it's not going to be. Sometimes there are stains that will not come out as they've seeped into the casting and the aluminum has oxidized over it. short of chemical etching cast aluminum will always have that slightly dirty look over time. It's time consuming though to strip the block and gearbox case down to nothing. even the studs have to come out.
its probably a good thing hahahahh i can not put up any more pictures up ive used up my quoter of down loading pictures or can i clear it
