Forget about the UN. Most useless organization on Earth. They should be cordially invited to GTFO of New York and move to Paris or Brussels where they belong.

Maybe they can take that twerp Obama with them.

The picture I posted is a THRUSH Aircraft platform(IOMAX)....built in Albany,Georgia

Interesting thing is the A10's are stationed about 30 miles from the THRUSH facility.....they both use the airspace and landing site at Spence Field in Moultrie.....maybe one day I'll look up and see a simulated dogfight between the 2...... LOL

THAT dogfight would be going back to WW1 speeds and "manoeuvers".

I think the Thrush dogfighting with the Air Tractor would be more interesting. Seems like a pretty even match, at least superficially.

Like a flare dispenser with a whole bunch of flares. Playing footsie with an SA-16 would not be much fun at 100 KTAS. Have done that myself, but it is much easier at 540 KTAS.

Flood the battle with many many of these smaller "bugs" and swamp the enemy with firepower. They were successful at this in WW2 with their artillery and ground attack aircraft. No picky-pecky fooling around, blast them. It would have been interesting to see the tank battle at Kursk.

I won't comment on this but maybe let's leave the politics in the subforum where it belongs.

This AT looks like a great counter insurgency aircraft. I'd imagine it's operating costs and maintenance time are both much less when compared to similar jet platforms (A-10 and Su-25).

    Agreed.

If I can whack cars driving around in the mountains, this plane is a grape ready to be popped for any fighter with offensive weapons...gun or -9 will splash it in seconds.

More of these flying around just means there's more for the ragheads on the ground to point at with their shoulder fired stuff.

We've been doing it for over 50 years with North Korea. Just watching generation after generation of the Kim dynasty put their people in concentration camps and subjecting them to rape, torture, starvation, human experimentation, forced abortions, hard labor, and summary executions. If we can just sit on our side of the fence and watch that for 50 years, why would we care any more what ISIS does except as a cause célèbre. We became spineless as a society long, long ago. Nothing, short of something like a nuke going off from a container parked in Long Beach harbor, is going to stir us to anything greater than the slow bloodletting of our youth that we've been seeing in Iraq and Afghanistan. We're going to have it all by sitting on the pot and pissing away our children's lives.

Good point and yes there is lots that has been going on in North Korea and some African countries that should have been stopped.

I guess with ISIS I'm selfishly worried as they appear to be expanding into Europe ... and nothing is happening to prevent them. Soon it could be Australia, etc.

    Yes, they could be.
I have seen a map of the countries that ISIS is present and they are in the Philippines and Indonesia.
Hopefully your local talent can out these guys on permanent basis.

I know the OV-10 Bronco's have been used by the Philippine govt to fight the Islamic issues they have...this aircraft though looks like it might have a bigger payload then the OV-10...
