Robb, Tim, If you bring your 355Ch to the track in the vicinity of SoCal let me know - maybe an excuse to dust off my 360Ch...
Yes I am for sure. I have priors the 22 and 28 th so after that I am in. A friend runs globaltimeattack.com they have a good structure where you race against the clock, good for just having fun and usually it piggy backs a bigger event so you can get double time on the track if you like
Our cage is bolted at the front corners but has a welded cross member in front of the dash just above the steering wheel - SCCA requirements in the day I would guess. I will look through my photos and investigate further, but I am guessing our cage will remain in the car full time. No problem for us. Looking forward to getting it to AZ and then more adventures await. Robb
Mark, We are excited about this car and being very hands-on owners! We know the running costs will be higher than a vette or viper but with consistent use and care - we expect a great ownership experience and will make the group proud. We are going to keep it driven. Thanks for your well wishes. Robb
I am alive thanks to a dangerous, unpadded, rollbar on the street. Granted, optimally you would pad it or prevent it from doing human damage, but in my younger less educated days, all I had was the bar and enough clearance to prevent me from contacting it. I'll take the danger of the cage on the street over the car without one. Padding it is the easy answer.
Wow... well, congrats! I admit I wouldn't have guessed where you were going with this, but as you know I like a car with history, especially history on the track. Here's to the next adventure(s)!
Thanks guys. It's been a busy day with difficult kids but... I will get back on track with more photos of the trip - I'm sure I have "5 more pages" of nothing in me. Cool stuff so stay tuned. Robb
Let's look at some of the cool cars they had just sold or on their "unlisted" status... Maybe they are for sale. So give Nick Mancuso a call. This F40 has been waiting on the new owner and better weather for a few months. I think it had less than 1000 miles. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm pretty sure that they also have 2 very nice 328 GTS that are for sale but not listed on their site. One in white with a red interior... Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
And a gorgeous black GTS behind the white one... I love seeing ALL the cars when I visit a dealership. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cuneo, It is undergoing a major service and we were not in a giant hurry on this one, so it is likely 3-4 weeks out. We are doubling up with Lake Forest's transporter to save on shipping with another car. It's a two car enclosed trailer so costs will be much less. We have plenty of fun things to keep us busy but we are looking forward to it arriving. Robb
Oh yeah, I forgot you already have TWO F355's to play with... Good man, you deserve them all! I must say I am drooling over your latest F355 acquisition, and would love to have the space and funds for my own Challenge. The history on your newest car is very cool! Thank you for your service to our country, and to the forum. Cheers Robb!
Thanks much Cuneo. I am looking forward to getting the car legalized over the next year through a lengthy process - But I am very optimistic and patient... Then I can get my second Veteran's license plate on the back. I will have to come up with something cool like: 1 OF 72 That sounds like an appropriate plate for me. Have a good weekend. Robb
