When you guys do your engine outs be sure to check these hoses. I think they're part number 171631. Both sides are leaking and the hose clamps are tight. I'm not sure if I'll replace them with the stock hoses or something else.

Most major kits include all the hoses.

I'm not sure that's right. Check the Ricambi price list. They (and others) only include the two that go to the firewall. There are four of the hoses pictured above and they don't come off with the engine out.

You are correct... I thought they came with it. My bad.

I bought the SR355H hose kit for my engine out.

Yikes, $1,000+ on hoses? Mine is a sunny day car and not a track car. There has to be a better option? I don't think silicon is the magic solution either though. I wonder if places like Jegs sell a high quality hose that can just be cut?

If you are just after the two hoses you show leaking, I suspect you can get them cut anywhere.

AW sells a silicone kit for around $300. It doesn't include all of the bits that SR does but you might check if it would be suitable for you

What is the advantage of the silicone hoses?

A number of years ago, I looked at some silicone hoses, not certain of the quality, and they appeared very stiff. I was concerned about the stiffness not allowing the connected parts some freedom to flex. In particular, the neck of the BMW radiator, which is known to crack.

With good rubber hoses that last a long time, I am curious as to the plus side of silicone.

I agree that they look too big. Also, I don't recall seeing any OEM water hoses that were not black (but I am no expert).
As we know, the quality of "rubber" hoses varies a lot.

What would be a good hose clamp to use?

It's possible someone put non factory parts on during my last major. The receipt has two entries of two hoses each but doesn't list part numbers. The clamps need to go too.

I replace them with Gates Yellow Stripe, $20 worth for all four. Clamp down very hard on the clamps.

Well thanks to Fchat someone was nice enough to contact me and sell me 4 leftover hoses from the Dave Helms kit. Nice find.

The hoses on my car are definitely not original. I looked closer tonight and they have a UPC code on them! Guessing that's not a Ferrari part.

Be aware that those are silicone hoses and are less flexible than OEM rubber ones.

Some say that the flexibility in these 4 hose locations is necessary to preserve the rather weak plastic radiator surround.

    Just saying....

But if you have Saldana radiators and the Scuderia Rampante hoses you're golden...

I have both, and they are both beautiful and bulletproof.

Those silicone hoses I posted for you are made in the UK and some on here have spoke highly of the outfit who makes them. They are very reasonably priced.

Well that's new.... real issue? Or perceived one?

Anyone have a radiator crack using silicone hoses?

    Made me laugh!!

They're like the hottest hotty with a "to hell with it" attitude.

I have the dave helms silicone hoses everywhere but kept the 4 oem rubber rad hoses just to allow the rads to jostle up and down ....they are more flexy than the stiff silicone ones.

Go price each radiator hose for the 355.

Now that they are getting old its just smart to swap them out, Age kills them.

But go price each one for the car from Ricambi America.
You will be close to $1000 for Ferrari rubber hoses.
