10-12lbs weight savings. Not a lot, but along with a bunch of other stuff, as well as harkening back to the time when I was young (and so was the earth), significant. Just fun stuff. Ah, the beauty of a salvage title. Set free of the tyranny of value obsession!!!!

    Brilliant.

Now if you just add a pinch roller and an electric motor to the end... you'll have electric windows.

Oh wait a minute .... I've got it backwards again.

That's certainly one way to get around the crappy door wiring harness connection problems.

OMG I can't believe you did that! What's next, a wind up windshield wiper? (40's sports cars) Manually operated vents for fresh air? (50's sports cars) A squeeze bulb for window washer? Manually activated headlamp flaps? (Opel GT). Turn indicator semaphores? I think you are taking this deconstruction project a bit far. Time to step out of the sun Bruce.

Armstrong power windows. Don't see that every day.

    Nice!

Vince has a point...how hard can it be for wind up wipers? You gotta have a wind up toy laying around you can grab the guts out of right?
