love it! and i'm not really a fan of the non-red F40s. But that blue looks awesome!
Absolutely. I'm just postulating the idea that since all of these cars are repaints from their original rosso corsa, none of the colors are particularly appropriate. Might as well be Ford's mystichrome.
Still looks more appropriate for a Hot Wheels toy to me, but that's just one man's opinion. I do like non-red F40s though, like yellow, black and bugatti blue (Gerhard Schwing's F40 comes to mind).
Seen the car yesterday live...I like it! Would have I done it to mine? No, but on someone else's car I absoultely loved it. Young chap who had it repainted owns an Aqua Blue GT3RS, I guess he really like that specific colour. Full respray was done at Carrozzeria Zanasi in Maranello (same place who repainted mine) and the work is absolutely top notch, a bit of weave is still visible.
Well, somebody liked the color enough on his GT3 RS to turn his F40 into the same color! As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Personally, I like them the color that Enzo wanted them to be.
Why yes of course. Did you not know that all Ferraris from 1950-Dec 31, 1979 were rosso corsa? Are my posts that nebulous? I was under the impression that virtually all F40s were delivered from the factory in red, and that such fact was widely known. Or are you just trying to mugatu me into thinking I'm taking crazy pills?
I'm in the camp that prefers Fcars in any color other than red. However, the F40 is one of the few Ferraris that looks best in red imo and that repaint further reinforces my stance. It still looks good, though...can't really make an F40 look ugly imo.
It's funny that none of the euro tuners, Keonig, Gemballa, Strosek, etc turned their hand to the F40 in period, or the 288 for that matter. Two cars that are just so right, in their own right.
Another shot, well with a minor damage! http://www.carbuildindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/209.jpg
Mecum here in Houston has used "non Ferrari" blues, even on the Lemans winning 250LM. It was a Cadillac color, available locally.. I agree therre IS a Ferrari blue (from the '70s) very close to this color. I would have spec'd that. Probably there's a current bright blue/clear coat, also. It does look very nice.
