It may be time to harvest some profits from the stock market and invest in a TR.

This is exactly why these classic cars are going up. You have an overvalued market, low rate environment, dividends at only 2-4% and a housing maket that's still stumbling along. There's nothing else to put your money into for the near-term.

Hahah I worked hard for that one!

Shamile when u get five mins, could you have a quick look at my thread on removing the wing mirror glass. I remember reading a post on you repairing a wing mirror but never saw how the glass itself is attached.

I made a seperate post so I don`t mess up this thread.

    Cheers!

    Dom.

Early to mid 2000s were the bottom of the curve. This was when the automotive styling world began to Over-Bubblize everything and the angular stuff began to be snubbed a bit. I remember even enthusiasts TRASHING the TR and Countach. Ah, that car is so eighties, outdated, blah blah blah. They all thought I was insane. As time soldiered on, they were the ones who were insane. The car never looked dated to me. The Countach did a little bit but was still sweet. I think the TR shape is much more organic and easier on the eye. It's the strakes that can sometimes throw people off. It is, and always was a beautiful car.

Great deal! I had a black 512tr in my sights in LA that I could have grabbed for 70 in 2013. I passed because the salesman was clueless and REFUSED to let me drive the car per instructions of the owner (consignment car). I said okay, see ya. I left and the guy called me for weeks trying to get me back in to sell it. All he had to do was let me drive it and I would have bought it. Somebody on here ended up buying it about 3 months later I believe. Just dug up the email, it was at the car factory. VIN ZFFLG40A9N0092579

And here is a classic jargon regarding the styling that we're not hearing so much these days.

It would still be a styling element today."

And then many other auto makers copied the TR styling cues (NSX, 3000GT etc.) The TR truly is a love it or hate it style. Its the most beautiful piece of automotive art on the road....in my eyes.

it truly is an original design classic. and it's size and proportions really go a long way in that regard. no question it will be more reverred as a design Classic as time goes by. my only nit about the design is I feel the front end could of been made to look a little less pedestrian .... the ridges by the head lamps and upper hood air intake could have been reworked a little. looks a bit too much like the NSX but only because Acura copied it.

I don't think anyone here is going to convince anyone else here that it's pretty or ugly.

The Boxer has as many questionable bits as the TR does, including a tail that looks like the siding on a midwestern tract home. That's just what Italian exotics were in the '70s and '80s. I can't tell the modern "exotics" apart without reading badges, so I can see why people are paying a bit more for the old stuff. It actually looks exotic.

I credit Kim Khardasian for making fat asses popular, even on the TR. That's THE sole reason prices are rising for the wide-ass beast. The car, I mean.

Haha oh boy. While I do find this funny, I loathe hearing about those losers and cannot wait until that travesty of a show ends so that we can no longer hear about them. Disgusting human beings

Brad, I fear they may have to stop breathing before you hear the last of them...maybe not even then! I always say to my wife..."aren't people's lives busy enough that they don't have time to tune into someone else's?"

hmmm....spend an hour watching their rubbish on TV or take the TR out for a spin? No brainer.
