Yes well they still owe me 5000 euros for an unusable pair of Dino cylinder heads they supplied me full of cracks. Dinoparts has a terrible reputation.

Those headers look great! Did they not have the mixture sniffing ports? Now is the time to install the tubes if you have the ports...
Did you remove and plug the air pump ports?

I'm sorry to tell you but the header are not correct

You will not be able to do one of the most important things

Adjusting your carburetors and tuneing the engine to run correctly

Send them back and get your original ones repaired and send them to jet hot and get them done in BLACK

    All the best
    Al

The sun machine in the middle is what we use and you see the ports clearly on the headers

I thought you meant accessing the carbs to adjust them-I see what you mean, and you're right-

With any non-original headers there is the real possibility you won't be able to match and use the orig specs/settings. If this is a decent product it should match but if not you may have some challenges. For example, fabspeed makes great headers for the 355 that help with known header issues 355s have and they are less $$s than orig equipment....but fab speed is more well known alternative with 355's than this header producer with 308s.

All that said these headers still look great!

You asked about tires... I bought the original (very expensive) Michelin XWX for mine, because a)there aren't many options in that size and b) I like the appearance of the tread and sidewall. That's what I'd recommend. But other folks have found more cost effective solutions from Vredestein and others.

    Guys,

First , sorry to hear about the cylinder head issue with Dino parts. My experience has been very good , and they were also recommended by the restoration shop I bought the car from that does a lot of Ferrari work. I will continue to use them. However, 5k for a set of cylinder heads seems a bit much. Got an exchange of 12 cylinder Lambo heads including new valves and guides for 2k 5 years ago.

Regarding the headers, this is a Euro spec car with single distributor and no emissions. Pretty sure they are original. Choose silver because that will give the lowest heat level.

Will let everyone know how this comes out. Not worried.

    Guys,

    Ok, now I got it.

Yes, all my sniffer ports are functional. They did not show up in the first pics. I attached some I took yesterday.

The coater advised silver color for the ceramic coating as this will transmit less heat. I did the same on one of my front engine lambos and it did make a difference it seems.

Picked up the bumpers yesterday with a new set of chrome plating. Also hooked up the throttle and installed and adjusted the cold idle device.

Also thought I would share what we did last weekend at a friends in Virginia. We supported the "marriage" of 1929 Auburn. One of the guys stated that the chassis only wants the other part for it's body :)

    Guys,

As part of the resurrection I am also cleaning the cooling systems. Radiator should be back Monday.

The long coolant tubes that go from front to rear had lost of deposits, mostly lime. I opted for mechanical cleaning instead of the chemical process because I was concerned about the aluminum tubes.

Bought a dryer vent cleaning kit at Home Depot for 19$. It comes with a 4 inch nylon brush attachment. I trimmed it to about 2 inches with a pair of scissors. I had already filled the tubes with Vinegar to soften up the deposits. Used a drill as directed and mechanically cleaned the tubes, then flushed them out with plenty of water. All shiny now.

I used vinegar in combination with a flexible house wire chaser with a towel attached for the four small connect tubes, as their radius is too tight for the nylon brush to navigate.

Just picked up the radiator and new oil cooler hoses today.

Radiator flushed, repaired (two small leaks at upper header tank) and painted for 78$.

Two new oil cooler lines with new fittings from Exotic Automation, 82$ each.

I have not been able to spend much time on the 308 lately. Just woke up the TR after its four month sleep and found a loose flange on the differential (had the unit replaced with the Gripper unit from Ricambi last Fall). The fastening bolt for the flange was loose after only 250 miles. Disassembled and cleaned everything, reinstalled with Loctite and proper torque. Hopefully that will take care of that.

Now, back to the 308. Yesterday installed the exhaust which I repainted, polished the tips, and installed new striping and Ansa decals. Also installed the new radiator thermo switch with the lower switching temperatures that I purchased from Napa, as advised on this forum.

    More to come soon.

Hopefully your Ansa labels hold better than mine, these were burnt off at approx. 10 miles

    Probably a little lean?

Mine look alright 2000 miles later.

I have found these cars like to be jetted rich. Until is stumbles than back lean a little.

Did you paint the stripes on the tips or are they decals? If so where did you find them?
