If there weren't such (purely speculative) dire ramifications of this being electrical discharge, this situation would be an absolute barrel of laughs. So we save 2 barrels of oil per weekend per driver because we have hybrid F1 cars, but (speculative) unintentional shock can immediately render a driver going 350kph unconscious? Sounds like progress to me! The road car manufacturers must have sphincters the size of a hummingbird's if this is even remotely true ...
Truth is, it's Dennis getting back at Alonso. Specifically built car for him Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
RD : now Fred, that $100M you cost us some years back .................. FA : Ron baby, it was all a misunderstanding RD : I was shocked at the time (now you will be)
No accident. No electrocution. Ron whupped Alonso upside the head with a spanner when no one was looking. For old times sake. Godspeed Fernando be back on track soon.
My buddy had a seizure. First thing the state did was revoke his DL. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
All these theories are interesting, but the guys that know are Alonso and those at McLaren. Let's just all hope that whatever it is, it doesn't prevent us seeing Alonso throwing a formula one car around again, as whatever you think about his morals, he is the best driver out there and always exciting to watch, something that can't be said about many of them Forza fernando
+1 he is following sound medical advice. The nature of the crash might be a mystery this part is not.
Weird accident to me....i'm pretty sure Ron would gladly sabotage Alonso's car just to have a litle revenge...on the other hand, Alonso, watching the crap he was in would be sneaky enough to crash it and than blame the car in order to try and get payd without racing...let's face it, they hate each other!!!! All jokes aside, i do hope it was nothing serious and that he fully recovers his health, that's all that matters.
Apparently the doctors advice to Alonso was not to drive the car in Australia. They have since stated: "Our advice to Mr Alonso not to drive in Australia was not due to any concerns about his previous concussion or any other condition related to his accident whilst testing in Barcelona. We just feel that the McLaren is currently such a slow, unreliable piece of junk that it's just going to depress him driving it and therefore he would be better off avoiding it!"
AMuS reports Alonso crash is a mystery. Apparently it happened as follows: - Alonso enters turn 3 at 215 km/h - Alonso slams breaks, reduces speed and shifts down three gears - McLaren still in stable path on track - As speed reduced to 135 km/h abrupt turn to right, apparently still driver induced maneuver - Impact at 105 km/h at 90deg angle between reducing speed to 135 km/h and impact passed 3 sec without any driver action, neither steering nor braking - car takes further 15 sec from impact to standstill Looks pretty much like the first rumour of Alonso being unconcious prior to impact would explain the above well... Arnoux is calling Bs on all of this, he says the crash would not be a reason for Alonso concussion..he believes he sufered some sort of "problem" before the accident...and he thiks the worst for Alonso is yeat to come.... Also it as been reported that some teams are demanding explanations from Honda and the FIA about the accident, they suspect there was indeed an electrical shock and that Mac Honda are hiding the truth, and some theatned to boicot the australian g.p!!! Things are warming up!! I suspwcted Mac/Alonso was going to end in tears but not before the championship started!!!
Alonso is a great driver and IMO notwithstanding Honda made a terrible mistake involving him in this effort. If nothing else, perhaps a PR case study will come from McLaren's and Alonso's incompetent handling of this incident. I hope Alonso is truly ok.
It seems clear that thee was something wrong with Alonso that precipitated the crash. A second or two of distress preceding a loss of consciousness would be consistent with some sort of seizure, as they do not generally come on like throwing a light switch. So, Alonso is the only one who can fill us in on what the problem is. There is one thing that is being repeated about the impact, that I believe is being reported incorrectly. I do not think that the line of travel of the car was at 90 degrees to the wall at the moment of impact. Had the impact been 90 degrees to the line of travel, the impact would have generated more Gs, and the car would not have continued to roll along the wall for 15 seconds. So, I think the angle of incidence was more oblique than 90, but, because the car was sliding, both front and rear wheels contacted the wall at the same time.
I don't believe it was electrical but probably driver's error. Maybe Nando looking at nemesis Vettel in his mirrors. What was strange, though, was that macca did not let Button lap anymore that day even if they could and right away reversed to their own energy recovering from 2009.
"The Spanish sports daily Marca reports that, given his all-clear by doctors, Alonso will have no more medical tests except the mandatory ones administered by the FIA ahead of his return to the cockpit in Malaysia. "Created by FIA medical delegate Jean-Charles Piette, Alonso will have to undergo reflective, cognitive and memory tests that match his previous 'control' scores to a value of 95 per cent. "In the meantime, his doctors have barred him from his favourite sport - road cycling - but he is allowed to run on a treadmill, swim, or work out in the gym." http://www.auto123.com/en/racing-news/f1-fernando-alonso-now-training-for-malaysia-return?artid=175240
