Welcome and thanks for your insights from Geneva. You will not be disappointed with the Speciale. The 488 will be faster but the Speciale is a great drive.

IMHO the 488 from the side is just wrong. Side intakes do not integrate as gracefully as they should and look strangely out of place. Front and rear are great if you like the 458 (who doesn't). Interior looks good. I am sure it will be very fast but sterile feeling. Hopefully they can pull some exotic sounds from the turbo supplied engine. It can be done. Have you heard newer Masers?

Have spoken to two individuals who have seen it in person. They both didn't like the photos...but say when you see the actual car it's stunning, and the side vents look fantastic. They both want one....badly!

How about putting magnifying glass over the engine so it looks bigger. ;)

Then some speakers like BMW so it sounds better as well. :D

Or just get a 730 hp F12 which sounds great as is?

No one has mentioned this, so I thought that I'd ask a stupid question. Why not try and coax an extra 50 hp from the 458 engine? Is that out of the question and if so how much faster would the 488 still be?

You can be quite sure that plenty of companies like Novitec, Fabspeed and so on, will do remaps for the 488. While there's a few downsides to it being a turbo car, the tuning available now, will most likely not be a 30-40 hp upgrade, but 75-100 hp. And this being Ferrari, they need to leave something on the table for the 488 "raw" edition, and not get it too close to the V12 power outputs + more boost,, would mean more lag.

Can be really true, I don't like the La Ferrari in pictures, but recently saw the two at the dealership in Las Vegas. All I can say is WOW!

I really like the new front 3/4 view of this car. The front is much more aggressive and "shark-like". Not too sure about the big cut out in the rear 3/4 panel and door though...

    Mmmmmm..... not sure yet.

I would say no at the moment. Not convinced yet.

However the styling details are an improvement, which is a good thing.

I do like the Speciale very much though.

My friend had his Speciale over and all I can say is wow, what an engine. The last normally aspirated Ferrari V8, just terrific.

A work of beautiful automotive engineering art indeed.

The best feature of the 458S IMHO.

The 4.5 litre engine was at its limits in the Speciale. They would either have to build a larger one, or go turbo. For emission purposes, turbo it is...
