Well this is a bit more real world from the recent low mileage mega bucks cars at the past few big name auctions - but it shows just how solid the increases in Testarossa`s are in the UK over the space of just a few months.

This 1988 LHD euro car with just under 45,000 miles, sold here in the UK at Brightwells today for £67,000 GBP hammer - which with the 10% premium and VAT on the premium means an all in figure of about £75,000 GBP - that`s about $115,000.

    http://classiccars.brightwells.com/viewdetails.php?id=5088

That would have been a £40,000 car last year - and £75,000 would have bought a good RHD car with half the miles!

At this rate it won`t be long before £100,000 is entry level price for a Testarossa....

They paid 10k€ for a set of luggage? I'm not sure I believe that...

What's with the Cartier watch? Was there such an "option"? Never heard if it before. Looks like just a Ferrari watch to me, not something you bought with the car but I could be wrong.

RM is based out of Ontario, and Hemmings isn't renowned for their dealer inventory site, so since RM places the ad, it naturally pulls their location from a separate field.

Look forward to seeing the result of the Auction which should be a good benchmark of the 512M's current value and a good indicator for TR.

Unfortunately it doesn't say much when a lowly 911 2.7 goes for 300k

That is very strong $$$ considering it was sold at the wrong venue. Could have gotten alot more at RM last weekend.

Zero chance RM is taking a 9k mile Testarossa for Amelia Island. Or Monterrey for that matter. Unlikely they'd have taken it for Scottsdale either. Seeing the "non RM" results last weekend, I'm guessing that this car did more at Manheim than it would have at either Gooding or Bonhams, especially since the auction would be taking their cut. I'm surprised Kessler paid what he did since I know he saw the 1991 with 8k miles sell for $140k plus 10% commission at Gooding...so $154k net paid by buyer, and we can assume $140k less maybe 8% to seller so $128kish net to seller...maybe he had an end user for it...

I dont get why people actually purchase over market at auctions. For me I would prefer to have a proper PPI done and not be rushed into the 'frenzy'.

Right now it seems like TR's are pooling together. One pool has uber low miles (less then 2k) and Uber asking prices, another pool has mileage in the 20-40K range with 85-115 asking. Im not seeing a lot of TR's in the 10k-20k mileage range. It seems like the best formula for a sale in this climate is to prep the car mechanically / visually then hire a reputable broker. I see the same Ebay queens not being asked to the prom month after month. Remember the Domani white TR with the custom red interior and a thousand Cavalinos? They doubled the asking price to $149k. Another thing im seeing is the amount of scam ads popping up. Recycled seller pics and a sub $50k prices.....owner out of town of course. Just wire the money.

Well that gives hope to that red Fiero "Testarossa" owner a couple months back who put 35k in to his "exact" replica of a 348... er... a Testarossa...

Force fed packaging with high dollar stuff. And also stuff that represents the finest of its kind. Last year, for example, they had a Karman Ghia and a VW Bug Convertible...not expensive cars, but both qualified as "the nicest ***** I've ever seen" and as such, set world records. Restorations of oddball stuff done to the highest caliber.

Sorry, don't agree...I don't see them turning down a really nice TR, I saw cars there last weekend that were not that nice. Lets face it a commission is a commission. They were even running Corvettes thru there

No recent service info on the Manheim car either from what I understand. It sure seemed like a whole lot of money for it in that venue...
