    OK, better pics to come.

After a little TLC following the purchase, I finally had the opportunity to enjoy her for the weekend. Just a great car. Happy to have added her to the stable!

Wonderful spec. Drive the car as often as you can because that is the only way to really enjoy and understand what this car is all about.

Do you wish to join the Scuderia GTO? If so, please provide some info and we will add you to the list.

    Cheers,

    M

Sorry for the slow response, have been traveling a lot.

Interior is black alcantara with red 4 point harnesses. Will post some photos later today.

Not keen on posting vin numbers online but it is one of the last cars made.

    Cheers, Mike

What is the market on a nice 599GTO? I may be interested in becoming part of this club? Brain is scrambling right now. Any available?

Check out cars.com, auto trader.com, dupont registry.com. A year ago there were many more GTO's available. Today there are becoming more scarce as many newer Tifosi (me included) have learned how incredibly raw and special the 599GTO's are in the flesh. I don't think you will ever drive a more challenging "modern" car. The GTO is an absolute 100% no nonsense beast of epic proportions. Personally I just think the 599GTO is too much car for most drivers (I will never master her capabilities). As others have said the GTO is a keeper and I seriously doubt there will be another GTO for another 20 years (despite the fantasies on F12 owners desirous of same - no F12XX= no F12GTO). The 599GTO is THE unequivocal best sounding and most challenging F car in the past 20+ years (going back to the F50). If you can find the color combo you like on a GTO I'd pull the trigger without hesitation.

    Congrats !

Please post some pics, full black alcantara is the best interior for a GTO IMO/

    Hi Mike,

No worries on the VIN number. We respect that. I have added you to the list.

Hope you have found some time to go out and enjoy the car ;)

FYI. Here in the UK, the cost to buy a RHD 599 GTO over past four months has risen from mid 300s to mid 500s (GBP), and actually seems to be accelerating. What I find puzzling is why is it accelerating now? A respected specialist dealer I know well feels they're good for high 600s before long. Is this a sign the market is heavily over-heating or have people finally woken up to the probability the 599 GTO is destined for true motoring greatness?

I suspect it's probably a bit of both, but being a long time advocate of the GTO it does not surprise me that the reality of it's greatness is beginning to take hold. There was a UK car being advertised at £650k and now marked as sold. What, where and IF that traded is anyones guess, but as an overall price point I still say it's cheap especially when compared to what else is out there these days!

Camlet1 - Dealer in Scottsdale, Arizona, Penske owned, is offering a rosso Scuderia/black Alcantara low mile - 926 -- for $724,900. If this clears at that price above the 700 mark, it would confirm your UK references for price. Another lower mileage example on offer at Salt Lake City dealer is posted at $750k but no pics, so hard to say anything about it.

There are 3 publicly for sale in the US from basically $700K-$749K and all 3 are low mileage. One of the GTO's is the F of SLC car at $749K with 72 miles ! Even though the SLC GTO has minimal carbon/options it is by far and away the lowest mileage GTO for sale (at least that I have seen). I will admit that I spoke with them and they turned down my offer. Not a fan of that specific SLC GTO option list (I like all of the carbon goodies) but my offer (which had a 6 in front of it) was knocked out right away. The SLC GTO will probably be stored away in a collection and won't be heard from again for another 10+ years where it will hit the auction block for $2M+. In 20+ years maybe $3M+ (maybe more). Some of you may think I'm nuts or that the market is crazy. Respectfully, I'd submit that neither is the case. Why ?

599 GTO's are long underestimated. They have classic lines, but the sound and fury of a street legal 599XX. They are the star of the show once given a "seat at the table". I get that the titular modern halo cars like the Enzo and LaF will always be given perceived priority over the GTO due to their unique body styles. That being said, IMHO the 599GTO is far and away the most under rated F car to come out of Maranello ... maybe ever. As our own M says - the 599 GTO is truly the modern F40. They made more than double the amount of F40's relative to 599 GTO production. Its inevitable that the prices will rise on the GTO as more and more drivers and yes collectors come to the realization that the GTO is an incredibly special car. IMHO our GTO's are iconic in every area. Its not hype - just drive the GTO hard around the block a couple of times and you will become an instant believer. I'd also add that when Ferrari does not come out with an F12 GTO (which seems obvious to us owners who say no F12 XX so no F12 GTO) the prices on the 599 GTO's will rise even further. My dealer in LI (huge volume multiple location blah blah) said no GTO model probably for another 20 years (give or take a couple of years). Bottom line is that the GTO is special and when more people find out about its character and capabilities the prices will rise. When a 2003 US spec Enzo costs $2M+ (and maybe $3M if super low mileage) why shouldn't the GTO which sounds better, handles better, is faster, more comfortable, has more classic lines, etc. cost 1/2 of those numbers today ? I'd argue that the 599 GTO should cost at least what the Enzo costs. I know many will think this is crazy as the Enzo has a unique body style and they only made 399 (vs. 599 for the GTO) but I'd argue that the GTO is the better (much better) driver. Will our 599 GTO's be recognized by the "market" as the spectacular cars they are ? Well depending on how you look at the situation, I think the market is finally starting to pick up on our steeds inherent greatness. Most of our GTO's (despite the 3 for sale here in the states now having super low mileage) do not sit idly as paper weights in a collection as they are phenomenal and challenging drivers and we like to drive our beasts. I hope I never get to the point where I say geez I don't want to drive my GTO because it will adversely affect its resale value. I don't want that and I want the GTO to remain a pure unadulterated drivers car. I literally can't wait to get into my GTO today. I'm like a little kid in a candy store with her. I never ever felt that way about my 458 despite the fact that the Italia was an amazing daily driver. Driving the GTO is like going on your favorite ride at Disneyland every single time you drive her. How can we put a price on that ?

Stephen, you are quickly becoming the "Global Brand Ambassador" for your fellow 599 GTO owners. I, for sure, appreciate your time and energy in conjunction with a few others, who continue to keep pulse of the GTO market! Cheers! :)

The F40 & The 599 GTO are probably the only cars about whom I have never read or heard something negative.

There is a general agreement on how awesome those cars are.

Stephen, M , and other owners It's always a pleasure to read your posts about the GTO, you guys know how to write.
