That's actually a good route to go. He could use the machine in the interest of science and then becomes obsessed with sex.
That's interesting because if you take away his game playing, Sheldon is the very embodiment of the Platonic ideal: only interested in theoretical work, detached to the point of dysfunction, largely asexual, etc. I thought it was a brilliant choice/commentary on academia.
Throwing a baby into the show is usually a last-ditch effort to save a foundering series. Sheldon + baby poo = I'm out.
The original pilot episode (never aired) wasn't well liked. The two things they didn't like was a horny Sheldon and the penny character, different actress played Penny. They retooled the show and shot a new pilot.
Well the season is not really improving so far... Still trying way to hard. First few seasons where much better, I'll rewatch them at some point again I'm sure.
Current season is ok, but, all those sad sack nerds having wives/girlfriends just pushes credulity beyond the max on a show that already pushed it pretty far. Interesting side note, Penny is the only character on the show who has not had her last name revealed. I expect that to change when she gets married in the last show. Or not. Oh, and Sheldon is my hero. Never has one so clueless lived so long. D
I just read on FB that there will finally be coitus between Sheldon and Amy on the Dec 17th episode. If this is true Sheldon will truly experience "The Big Bang" and life as he has known it will no longer exist.
A friend of mine is early 30s and still a virgin...Works in IT, at home he just play games, Saturday friends go round to his to eat pizza. Doesn't go out, except for dinner when going to the movies. So they do exist!
That makes the pilot that did air make more sense. In it, Sheldon and Leonard go to a sperm bank to make a donation to make money to buy something nerdy (games or faster internet I think). The Sheldon character as we come to know him would NEVER do this.
The sitcom started the season a little slow but soon returned to its past interesting and funny show.
