    Sounds like you're an F1 guy to me...6 speed...7 speed...is there really a difference when wanting a 3 pedal?

    Where's the end? 9 speed manual in a few years? Seems like a competition between the manufacturers - who can put the most gears in a manual transmission. ;-)

    Stick shift works best for 4-speeds. I think you'd need a gated box for anything over 6 gears to be usable, and I can't imagine it would work at all for the current 8-speed boxes in some modern cars (Mercedes, IIRC, and some Fiat-Chrysler cars.)
