Not sure what part you're asking about? I thought you were referencing the filter setup.

Well, if you can fit an old V12 in there for questionable gain, is there any reason why you couldn't put, say, an F430 engine in?

Then you'd really have worthwhile increases in both hp and torque without much increase in weight.

The 512M motor works due to it's packaging with the transaxle. The 430 wouldn't bolt up to the 355 transverse transaxle and fitting it in with it's longitudinal transaxle would require either splitting/moving the gas tank or extending the wheelbase.

They are 19x8.5 front... 19x11 rear
For the longest time, I thought they were made by speedline, but after A LOT of research...
I've come to realize they are very rare Champion RG5 3 Piece Wheels that were custom cut for the F355. Unfortunately, I'm not sure of the offset. I will try and get you guys that info along with the tires sizes next time I'm in the garage....

I didn't know Bruce sold those headers. They look very nice!

Bob when it comes time it might be easier to sell your car if returned to stock ;)

If you need help finding a home for any of those parts I will gladly help :)

Sold most of the stock parts over the years. I know most guys don't like to touch a Ferrari but I think Ferrari left a lot of performance to be improved upon if you want to drive the car hard. It's a whole different car then when I got it 15 years ago. I have not gotten the car out of winter storage but after the major this spring not sure if I will sell it. Hard to replace a 355.

    ok thanks..

offsets are to be determined next time you have the wheels off.. its usually engraved on the inner side of hub.

as for tires sizes.. you can just look at the side wall of your tires.. the sizes are there..

I believe at WOT the motronic ignores the MAF and O2 sensors anyway, so for a race car or track car it wouldn't matter much. For a street car you could use the stock management but you'd have to re-map it for good operation. I don't know that you'd gain anything by removing the intake tract. It'd be interesting to try on a dyno and see if it picks anything up with no airbox, but I think you'd find the opposite.

Edit: maybe it just ignores the o2, can't find anything definitive on the maf, but I guess it wouldn't make much sense to ignore it. Who knows with Ferrari, though.

I agree. Even if it picked up on the dyno I think it would perform better on the road with the ram air effect of the scoops.

I have read motronic ignores maf at WOT but how does it run otherwise? Do these run fine at start up and part throttle with the maf unplugged? Maybe tuning is the answer as you mentioned. Just fail the maf in the program and tune it 100% speed density. (if that's possible with these)

I've always wondered if you could take off the entire intake tract and just slap filters on the velocity stacks...

I found madturk's 355 vs. 512 'faceoff' very interesting. One of the interesting stats concerned weight. Ferrari used to (still does?) play fast and loose with stats, and one of those is weight. They had a claimed weight of 1350kg for the 355, but when the 130kg (approx.) was added for fuel & driver the measured weight was 1558kg.

Has anyone ever actually weighed his car?

I think I remember Gothspeed weighing his 96 Spider and it was just over 3400 lbs.

I don't like the red wheels either. I am however going to plasti dip the wheels in black. I am thinking about big brakes options. There was an other thread about big brakes that I am following.

Yeah I've been thinking to do the same, waiting on my new rims to arrive before I start experimenting on the stock ones.

Funny, I was just thinking of the short shifter this morning, where did you get that from?
