    Hi there,

Thanks for the great instructions. I've just followed your guidance and tackled replacing my inner CV boot. It was a big job for me as I'm not that mechanically minded.

Once I got everything out I could see that in my case it was just the clip that had come loose but I replaced both boots since I'd done the hard bit.

It was messy (that CV grease is nasty!) but I took my time and have just finished tightening the various bolts to the right torque.

The hardest part for me was getting the brake disc off and back on the hub - there was virtually no clearance between the handbrake pads and the recess on the inside of the disc!

Got it off with a lot of time and a rubber mallet. The solution I found to get it back on was to use the wheel nuts to centre the disc and then gently tighten the nuts to wind the disc back on the hub.

I saved myself £800 - the price quoted by Ferrari main agent for a replacement boot.

How hard was it to remove the inner cv joint off the splines as mine seems to be stuck tight !

Once the snap-ring is removed it usually will come apart. Sometimes it requires a press.

Just to add to the info, the top cap (the one that is screwed against the gearbox) has to be removed by gently tapping against the edge.
Start on one side, then the other, like removing the tight lid of a cookie jar.
When it is off, remove the grease that sits on top of the axle, and then you will see the snap ring.
Once that is removed, you should be able to slide the CV joint off (mine was tight but came without violence), and then you can slide off and replace the boots.
