Wayne found three 308's I was curious about his mechanic (like him better than Wayne) but he was trying to change the belts with the motor in?
That's normal. Remove passenger side wheel lining, disassemble, and you can do the job with the engine in place.
If I remember correctly, Wayne sold one of the 308s, and then sent 2 of them to a "specialist" broker. Sid
When he was buying the cars he promised the surviving brother that he would come back and give him a ride when the car(s) were drivable, it doesn't look like he did (did a quick flip).
The owner of the car is on fchat he posted about his experience in 2013 when he bought the car from Wayne. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142740254-post40.html
I watched it again last night one of my favorite episodes IIRC Gordon the owner said that he had already bought the car before the episode aired.
He's an old school racer set a record at Lime Rock I believe he was the first person to break the one minute time around Lime Rock. Knows a thing or two about mechanical things also.
Gordon, Weather is getting better. Hope to see you at GB again this year. I think when we met last year I had the 355 (blue one). Maybe this year we will cross paths when I have the GTB QV with me..
I would love to have that blue GTS from the episode. That is a true love/hate color. Obviously I fall on the love side... I contacted them when it first aired to see if I could find out where it went but got nowhere. Might have been a good project from the description on the show.
Someone spotted it at a shop in CT after that. Millers in Greenwich I think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was planning to take it out this weekend but the only thing I'll be driving today is the snow blower Image Unavailable, Please Login Maybe next weekend... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Almost bought a very nice 328 from F40. I was prepared to make an offer, but then the salesman, Mike, told me it had been badly damaged in a fire and sections were rebuilt. I then offered a bit less and he didn't accept and I moved on. It was a pleasure dealing with Mike, a real class act.
Gullwing sold a car with some very expensive needs Only at the last minute do they disclose the fire damage, wow!
You know I saw that and his listing price at the time on his website and I thought "what are you trying to do-move the market?" Seems at the time I thought it was overpriced but a great car. Well, not anymore! Good find. Was that you on the series?
