After looking at my records I found a copy of the original window sticker and found out my 308 came from the factory with 16 inch wheel. How many of you have seen this and was it common on the qv us spec. Cars ?[IMG][IMG]

Almost all US QVs came with the 16" wheels. I believe they were standard. Many (most?) of the euro cars came with the TRX wheels.

More correctly, they may have became standard equipment in 1984; but prior to that I believe they were a factory option.

Correct for Euro cars as well, the original factory invoice showed the car being supplied with optional 16" wheels and deep spoiler

Sixteen inch wheel were available as early as the GT/4. By the end of production there was a "P7" option.

Just learned it myself from a GT/4 expert. The factory replacement parts list shows it along with different interior rear fender pieces to give the needed clearance.

The first 83 QVs still had metric wheels like the 2Vi's as standard equipment but by late in the year the 16's started to appear. By 84 they were on all of them. I think it had more to do with the F1 contract from Michelin to Goodyear than much else.

    One can hope :D

I have a set too. My car is a euro and came with TRX wheels, but I picked up a set of OEM 16" wheels along the way and usually run those. At some point I will stop being so cheap and buy a new set of TRX tires and drive them for a while. I'm pretty sure that set I have are the original tires that came on the car from the factory, which means they are very hard and very slippery. I guess the benefit is that you can power slide around every corner with only 240 hp :)

Don't know. I've only seen the GT/4 parts sheet.
The GTS parts sheet should be available on line too.

I have a set of 16 inch wheels that I'll be selling soon. I think they are OEM, but I'd like to make sure I don't misrepresent what they are.

The part numbers are molded into the back side of the wheel, along with "Made in Italy". The part number on each front is 120926, and each back 120927. The part numbers correspond with the 308QV factory parts book, and are the "superceded" part numbers for the earlier 16 inch option (308i and 308).

The wheels do not have anything identifiying them as Campagnolo or Speedline, so I am guessing they are Tecnomagnesio? The Ferrari logo and the size 8J x 16 and 7J x 16 are painted on the faces of the outer rims.

Do you think these the "real deal", or are they orphans? The wheels are currently at the refinishers, should be back in a week or two, so I'd like to solve the mystery before posting them for sale. Again, I want to make sure that whatever I represent about them is correct.

The reason I am selling is that I have decided to go with the 14 inch wheels (and appropriately expensive tires!) I have that are more original for my 1978 GTS.

    Thanks for the input! Jeff

Do you know your car was not supplied with them from the factory since they were an option at the time (see post 20) ?
