That yellow tach has been in mind:)
She has a tubi and none OME floor mats, and I love the factory original air bag steering wheel. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I did it myself with a friend who is a machinist. I took it out of the car and he cut it, pinned it welded it and polished. Stronger than stock because I have heard of the gear lever breaking in half.
Just sold my f355 carbon fiber Imola front lip spoiler (one of probably only a handful in the world) to Yassa. I clear coated it and took some pics. There are very few pics if any of the lip off the car. Just posting some for reference. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Me too! I was just trying to contact those guys last week to buy one. I even had my buddy in Frankfurt call them but there was no answer. It looks so good in the pics on their website.
I tried contacting Dimex several times over the past few years, and never got a reply or answer. I don't know if they've closed up shop or what... they've got some nice stuff.
I purchased the lip directly from them 4-5 years ago for $2500 shipped. I think i bought the last one... Seriously. No one else has had any luck getting anything from them. Although Ive seen several pics of a few cars with this lip on the net, i don't think Ive ever come across another forum member mentioning having one.
I know people say they have trouble talking to these guys, but I've spoken with Dimex numerous times las year about getting wheels and other items. Always get prompt replies...they have even contacted me after several months to remind me of items I had previously mentioned I was interested in. Weird.
You can still get the M-tecnologia front lip if you know where to look. I just got mine a few months back. I think it was around $2800shipped.
I am starting to grow fond of that front lip. $2800 sounds steep considering the usd/yen exchange rate is the best its ever been. Did you get it yet? It should look really sharp with your setup. Make sure to post pics.
I got it 6 months back, I'll definitely post pics, should complete the car nicely. Finally found some leather pole positions as well.
Where did you end up getting them? They are hard to find, which is why i couldnt give you a recommendation. Recaro also lost their FIA certification on a majority of their bucket seats, including the pole positions and I heard they have halted importing them to the U.S. Hang on to the ones you have. PSA: Your Fancy-Pants Recaro Seat May No Longer Be Legal For Racing "We initially reported that the FIA had done the testing, but this was a misunderstanding of the FIA's release. Recaro Automotive Seating did the tests internally and let the FIA know of their results. We also mentioned that the seats are probably fine for track days, although due to the severity of the issue, the company is actively discouraging their use regardless of whether you need the FIA certification or not." I was going to recommend getting cloth seats, which are fairly abundant and cheap on the used market and getting them re-upholstered to your liking. I'm getting a set built in carbon for extra strength (Recaro found weak points in their construction) and some weight reduction. Just a little more piece of mind. I took apart my buddy's cloth pole position seat he had lying around to inspect the construction. Recaro certainly makes a good product overall, but the bucket seat is made in Germany using a mass production method. IMHO, i think it is made with a chopper gun, which tends to yield heavier and weaker parts compared to other techniques. I just personally need it to be a lil lighter and stronger and i love the look of CF bucket seats.
I can't wait for the cf seats. I've been actively searching for cf seats but now that you are doing cf seats I'm thinking maybe I'll wait. Will it be available for purchase, how soon, and of course $$$? Thanks
I wouldn't offer it for sale unless I was a sponsor and I was confident I could produce something exactly the way I want it consistently. Most of the stuff I do is really for myself because I saw areas that needed improvement and I have a specific weight and aesthetic goal for my car. What I will do is start a thread when the time comes about where or how I will source matching Connolly leather for our cars. I'm not feeling the Recaro porsche/bmw leather for our cars. Its a bit on the rough/hard side. I like the soft supple feel of Connolly leather, not to mention, the Recaro black looks more like a dark gray than a jet black. I found a local upholstery shop who's work I like, but we'll see how good they really are when the time comes. I'm not unreasonably picky/anal, but I do have a certain standard. They'll have all the patterns to make the seat once I give it to them and if anyone chooses to use them to re-upholster their recaro seats, go for it.
Pure luck..found a single new one on vancouver craiglist and touge factory in the US had one last leather left.
Ken, I got the lip...and it looks great. Thanks a lot. Anyone interested in purchasing anything from Ken, buy in confidence. .
