May it be a smooth flight from here on Bob.
Yes Kaiv, a very small group of Bob's friends know, but it cannot be posted on a public forum until someone from his family says it is okay. And even then, I'm not sure any of us would want to take that responsibility. Let me just say that Bob was a guy who lived life at its fullest and on his own terms. He wanted his friends to celebrate his life, not his passing. For those of you who knew him and want to come to his memorial service, visit the Santa Barbara Cars & Coffee Facebook page where the event notice will be posted in the coming days. Thanks.
That was the only time I met him face to face, but we exchanged many PMs over the years. That night he made sure anyone interested knew of the "secret" Factory unveiling. Rest In Peace. He was one of the few current Challenge guys, I had met. This is a real shame......
I loved this memory of him. I forgot where the thread was (360/430?) where he "came forward" that it was him in the video but I was a big fan of his after that. RIP
Services for Bob will he held at Mt. Carmel at 1:00 on May 2nd. I would like to see all of his car enthusiast there. There will be a reception after the service.
RIP Bob.. Didn't see eye to eye politically but enjoyed his company here on Fchat. Prayers go out for him and his family... Mark
I will attend. There should be tons of Ferrari's in the parking lot! Bob, although I only knew him through F-chat and the occasional random driving encounter in Santa Barbara, was a great guy and I enjoyed his funny comments. From his Neil Armstrong story to his knowledge on heavy jets, and his political viewpoints, projected a real presence online. It was a shock to hear of his sudden passing. Thank you for the info Gary, and I'm very sorry for your loss.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for your kind words about my uncle. It is so great to know how many people truly cared about him and how many lives he touched in one way or another. I did get to meet a few of you at one of the Cars and Coffee events last year and I hope to see you at his memorial services on May 2nd. Thanks again and God Bless!
The service was sad. A good man is gone. His brothers comment that the sky's are bluer because of him rings true. Millions of barrels of oil were saved with his ideas. Godspeed Bob. Art
