In 50 years, no one will care about bondo and accident damage. A majority of 15 year old sports car will have bodywork/paintwork, either concealed by fixing it off of carfax, or misrepresentation by unscrupulous sellers. If it bothers you then wait for the "beauty"

I agree...but it does detract from the value of a 355 currently.

These aren't rare cars where prior damage doesn't affect the value.

If the trend continues though and GTS/GTB's are harder to come by then I could see cars with accidents commanding more money but for the time being, I don't think that's the case. Clean cars are still popping up here and there...you just gotta move FAST.

USD/Yen exchange rate is the most favorable it has ever been. If the exchange rate was same as a year ago, that car would be 100k. Tan interior isnt as desireable in japan as black.

I have been searching for a 6-speed 355 GTB in red or yellow for months. Anyone know any available? I prefer miles in the mid teens but am willing to take what I can get if the car is right in terms of condition and price.

Humm.... it has been so long since I have seen one that matches that description come up for sale that I can't even guess the price range. They come up, every once in awhile just not with that low of mileage. You can find a spider with that low of mileage because there are 50 spiders for sale for every GTS.

I don't have a specific budget. I am willing to pay what a car is worth given mileage, history, colors and so on. I am aware of what current pricing is and an estimate of $120k is ridiculous. For that I would buy a Testarossa and see the car appreciate over time. Not that Haggerty is the be all end all, but its pricing tool estimates a 95 F355 GTB in concours condition is worth $56,600.

I have a specific car in mind that I want. It belonged to a friend of mine about 10 years ago. If anyone knows of this car I would love to speak to the owner. It was last registered in Braintree, MA after being purchased and registered in Jupiter, FL. It is a 1995 F355 GTB in Fly Yellow over Black. Tubi exhaust and a challenge grill. Any help locating the owner of his vehicle would be great. Please PM me.

Thanks for all of your help.

I think my estimate is dead accurate, why do u think none are on the Mkt?

    Not one.

    Haggerty valuations are a joke.

If you can find a perfect low mileage 95 berlinetta I don't think it will take 120k to buy it but 56.6k won't come anywhere close either.

Speaking of wrecked 355s does anyone have the specs for measuring the car on a frame machine?

It could be a quick reference to measure the car prior to purchase.

Let us know what you run into in your search. I don't think $120k is market but Haggerty is only worth its value in toilet paper. If you find a condition one car for $90k in your spec buy it. If you find a condition four car in your spec for what Haggerty say condition one car is at$56k, buy it. If you snooze on either they will be gone.

A very nice low mile 355 B is worth 120k in today's Mkt, when one comes to one of the high end auctions this summer I think the price will be much higher then that - 150k plus.

U guys haven't seen the private transactions - however that is what a few have traded for recently.

Again NONE are on the mkt for a reason, if u can find one for sale for less from a uneducated seller, good for you. That is not uncommon in a very hot market that is changing rapidly.

The days of getting one of the best mid engine Ferrari's to come out of Marenello for less then half of a new Cadillac Escalde and a 1/3 the price of a new MB 550 are over.

Attention passengers...the Testarossa ship has sailed...

2 years ago when I was shopping 355's and Testa's they were both in the same ballpark.

I think that is what a lot of us are waiting for. The Fiorano sale for $198k last month at auction could easily be brushed off and dismissed for a variety of reasons that all hold weight. A non special edition F355 going for huge money right after is a different story.

I am not referring to private transactions. I am referring to a public auction transaction that resets the perception of the majority that are not with direct knowledge of the private transactions.

That will change the perception of the masses that a condition one car is $56k, or even under $100k.
