    I don't know why you guys don't but "Smooth" on Ignore, apparently he went to a McLaren Dealer that refused to let him drive a car, and he has a major hard on for McLaren. Besides knocking the brand, what has any of his posts said anything positive or constructive about any car?

    Damn, that's one fugly looking car.

    I doubt Porsche are losing too much sleep after seeing those released images of their new segment 'competitor'.

    Nah, he had a 12C and sold it after short period due to having too many of the typical gremlins in early cars. Somehow his feelings haven't mended after several years. Also probably didn't help that selling in the first year cost $100K ;)

    I never had a 12C, they would not let me test drive one. I won't buy a car that I can't try.

    I think the term "rehash" used earlier in the thread was the best description in this thread of the car before the unveiling. Nothing really wrong with that. Aston Martin does it with their entire lineup and it works. BMW basically does it with the 3, 5, and 7 series since forever (and I love all those cars mentioned).

    I was really hoping for something fresh. I would still take it over an Fcar, though. The Fcars are too flashy and I think the McLaren will still outperform them.

    This is an important car for enthusiasts so i hope mods can keep the fighting to a minimum here!

    I really like the silver esp in monotone without the contrasting black like on the orange one. Now that theyre both turbos, why pay possibly double for 488? This seems like it could detract from 650s too. At this point i still prefer used 488, but huracan is hard to resist if dont care about $

    I assume there will eventually be an open top version, but is there a base model 540 also coming w less hp, etc?

    I don't see how it's a rehash any more than any other company. I'm not sure there is a single body panel on it that is the same, though obviously there is a design language.

    Its a family resemblance. Nothing wrong with that. I would know it was a mcclaren without ever seeing a badge on it. No difference for 458 and laferrari. Same genes.

    Btw, is this car much smaller than 650? I hope so

    Although I find that the car looks quite cool it doesn't strike me like the design of most Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Maserati's and Aston Martins. Why? I don't know, it's hard to describe...

    Performance figures are very impressive!

    If people think that the Interior is doing by Audi and Ferrari is that McLaren really lack identity and to be price it is incomprehensible. Outdoors and really successful but compare the smoothness and sensuality of a 488... The Interior is the point that disappoint me more than to much and too many button nothing to do with the simplicity and the design of a 488
