Greetings! Im starting to get more serious in my hunt for a Ferrari (eyeing a couple of nice F430's in my area) I've never owned an "exotic" before... I currently have an E63 AMG and a 997 C4 in my garage. Should I expect to pay significantly more for something like an F430? I know it will be more but just how much more?? I have my current cars insured with USAA and I'm not even sure if they would cover a Ferrari... any other USAA members on here? Anyways just trying to build a budget and get a feel for what it might cost to get one insured. I am 30 years old, clean record and live in the SF bay area...
30 year old male in Sacramento. Was paying $1100 every 6 months on my 997 turbo with Geico. Went up to just over $1300 for my F430. Clean record. Daily drivers both. No limits on miles.
Thats not as much of an increase as I had imagined... though I would have mine setup as a non daily... probably would only see a couple thousand per year at most... Thanks for the input fellas... of course any more input is welcome!
I pay approx 1300 year w/state farm 04 360 no miles restriction...I qualify for USAA but they can't touch the rates I get from State Farm...been with them for 30 yrs though...HTH
$900NZ for full comprehensive, with unlimited screens. Limited to 5000 kms per year unless I tell them I might go over. Pretty good deal considering my Monster 1100 is more.
37 yo male in south Florida I pay $960 a year through Grundy. I also have my vette with them, so total around $2k for two cars.
I have three cars through Grundy's MVP program. The Ferrari is less than $500/year. The prices for the other two cars are as good or better than almost everyone that I quoted last fall.
It is nice to be young, but when shopping for ins it is better to be an old man with no tickets. 350.00/yr limited mileage full coverage.
Here in California. Age late 20's and no recent citations / tickets. My insurance premium is $1,300 per year. No restrictions on miles, places to drive and it's a well known insurance carrier, All State.
all-state in texas - $420 for 6 months... clean record, over 55.. 7000 miles per year restriction, no problem there.
$2700 for 12 months full kasko. Do not pay while car is garaged, just hand the plates in. Very simple and no lines at the department of motor vehicles. This is Switzerland after all.
As usual, all over the map. So many variables. I'm with USAA and pay about $700/yr for max coverage after the usual discounts. You can go on their website and get an instant quote, save it and then execute it if/when you buy the car. That's what I did. Cheers and good luck
Ps: I carry 500 K liability plus matches my umbrella at 2 million...only way State Farm carries it all the way up...but at the speeds I drive...insurance is cheap!
Just make sure you do your homework and TALK to people who have filed claims with their insurance companies. Geico and Travelers are OK but I've nothing but horror stories from claims filed with All State and State Farm. Also make sure to get an "agreed value" policy. Nothing worse than trying to argue with an insurance company over the theoretical value of your ride. I deal with Chubb and they are excellent!
I tried to find a stated/agreed value policy, but I wasn't able to locate anyone willing to write such a policy on a non-collector car. As soon as I mentioned "daily driver," everyone turned me away.
